Historia
Jake Sullivan is a licensed private eye with a seriously hardboiled attitude. He also possesses raw magical talent and the ability to make objects in his vicinity light as a feather or as heavy as depleted uranium, all with a magical thought. It's no wonder the G-men turn to Jake when they need someoneto go after a suspected killer who has been knocking off banks in a magic-enhanced crime spree.

Brilliant Surprise
Revisado: 04-05-13
Would you listen to Hard Magic again? Why?
I will most definitely listen to this again! I love when a sci-fi junky like myself can be surprised by a new mixture of magic and an unexpected scenario/plot.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Hard Magic?
The final battle on the fancy blimp, and Fae keeps blip rampaging - epic!
What about Bronson Pinchot’s performance did you like?
His voices were brilliant! You'd forget that one person was characterizing all of them as he shot out separate accents and pitches for each.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending... I won't ruin it, but I laughed and teared up.
Any additional comments?
GET IT! If you love magic, and new ideas put on old historical twists, love, friends, epic battles, and raging magic - this is a must 'read'.

Historia
Two masters of epic fantasy have combined in this brilliant collaboration to create a rousing tale. This is the story of Shana, a half-breed born of the forbidden union of an Elvenlord father with a human mother. Her exiled mother dead, Shana was rescued and raised by dragons, a proud, ancient race who existed unbeknownst to elven or human kind. From birth, Shana was the embodiment of the Prophecy that the all-powerful Elvenlords feared. Her destiny is the enthralling adventure of a lifetime.

Suprisingly Brilliant

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely!
What did you like best about this story?
I've been a science fiction reader for as long as I can remember, and I loved hearing about the private lives of two very different worlds - shamanistic dragons and royal courtesans. It melded a story between the two. I plan to buy the sequel and continue on with the brilliant world created by the author. However this story was more than a simple introduction. It was a complete epic masterpiece that could stand on it's own. Although I am quite pleased to find out that there is even more to come!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes.

Descent book, plan to repeat
Revisado: 04-02-13
What does Neil Gaiman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Gaiman has a brilliant inflection and storytelling ability. His accent is truly amazing as he easily depicts his characters and storyline flawlessly.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Honorable, but less than ordinary man meets magic, shifts reality and changes his stars forever more.
Any additional comments?
I was surprised that this is Gaiman's favorite tale. Personally, I liked the Graveyard Book much better. This story felt like an except rather than a full tale. I hope that there is a sequel or spin off to come. This story was creative, and allowed the reader entrance to a new and a previously unimagined world. There are magical creatures, and humans are not the "kings" of this underworld, so beware. Brilliantly creative!

Get past the first two chapters - it's worth it
Revisado: 04-02-13
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
At first, I hated his book. I am not a stupid person, but the terminology used left me feeling confused and idiotic. I tried to return the book, but the site had an error. I decided to continue and I am glad that I did. Once I began ignoring his odd use of calendar and time terms it got a lot easier to follow. (Ex: half glass = half an hour) As the book continued, I got very involved in the plot and began to attach to the characters. If you have the will and determination to overlook the first two chapters and allow your mind to "skim" as it is read - the rest of the story is brilliant. If you love magic, science fiction, and the like - you will love this story. I look forward to hunting for more from this author.

Loved it!
Revisado: 04-02-13
Would you listen to Love in the Afternoon again? Why?
Absolutely. The plot was creative and story/characters interesting.
Any additional comments?
This was my first audible romance novel. It was great! I found myself flushing with some of the sensual scenes, but that's what we read them for - right? None of it was crude at all. The story was a unique, behind the scenes view of a soap opera. That was really unique and left plenty of room for spin offs. Well done!

Historia
Your loved one begins drinking to the point of no return once again. A fight ensues, words are exchanged and it is another miserable episode of nagging and pleading and promises to refrain from ever returning to this point. Does this sound familiar? If this is the picture that represents your life, then it is time to enact an alternative to the repeated efforts of trying to make him or her quit this behavior. What if it were possible to alter your reaction to your loved one's drinking?

Mixed feelings
Revisado: 04-02-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, I'd wager there are better and more supportive references out there.
Any additional comments?
I've been trying to take the grains of information planted in this book. I kept having to pause and take breaks because I felt myself getting filled with anxiety - wanting to argue with some of the opinions. This book isn't the law on dealing with an alcoholic. A lot of the information was frustrating to listen to. What I did like was the chapter about adjusting how I felt and acting as I wanted to feel - the actions led the feelings and gave the drinker less of a reason to jump down a bottle. That was insightful and helpful. I've spent my time trying to cheer myself up, and in turn that has caused my situation to become lighter and more tolerable.
