Good story, but production is weird
Revisado: 04-02-25
I have enjoyed the series and like the individual and unique voices. The real issue is that the voices speak as if they are in an 80s porn. Soft, unnatural conversion. The speaker is either whispering in your ear or talking to you from the back of an empty tractor trailer.

Historia
Today the United States is the world’s great superpower, and yet we also wrestle with the government Franklin and Washington created more than two centuries ago - the power of the executive branch, the principle of checks and balances, the electoral college - as well as the wounds of their compromise over slavery. Now, as the founding institutions appear under new stress, it is time to understand their origins through the fresh lens of Larson’s Franklin & Washington, a major addition to the literature of the founding era.

Historical fiction peppered with some facts.

It was ok, but way too much opinion and speculation from the author. The narrator was one of the best doing audio books at the moment however.

Revisado: 08-17-24
Sadly, Cussler books have become so predictable and stale. While the 50s misogyny has softened the book is so bloated to provide background. I guess they get paid by pages.

Not really about Olivia Coleman.
Revisado: 08-02-24
I am not sure why this is the Olivia Coleman series. All she seems to do is cry, whine and wait for help from her brother and Diggs. This should be the Diggs series And seriously, what is up with the narrator? All of his voices are a mix of several accents and then there is Olivia's voice? Yikes.
I am also confused of why the state of Washington is included as they fly from Europe to DC? That is a tad out of the way.

Historia
England’s humble princess, who asks to simply be called Mary, has accepted China’s offer to take a ride on a majestic train they call “The Dragon”. It’s the fastest train in the world and it’s racing toward disaster with terrorists hidden among the passengers and a monster explosive called “Mother of Satan” hidden within its walls. Fortunately, Doc Holiday and the rest of “The President’s Dozen” (plus three other familiar heroes) are determined to make sure the princess survives.

Good story, Corny Narrator
Revisado: 05-29-24
My main complaint is the awkward narrator. Is he British? Stuffy New Englander? All of the women are mousy Valley Girls, some of the men have deep constipation. And when did the French citizen and researcher Madeleine lose her French accent and gain a Scots/Irish Valley Girl accent?

But then they learn the president fears his “Book of Secrets” may never be seen again. This time, there’s no need to summon “The President’s Dozen”. They - and a couple of new members (and a pair of familiar allies) - are already up to their necks in danger when the mysterious and deadly threats are identified and understood. Weak Story, Bad Narrator
Revisado: 05-15-24
I havI have listened to each book so far but not sure about continuing. The story was very weak idea was good. I mean, hard to believe you call the president every five minutes while spending the rest of their time speaking in cliches. I will say this narrator is better than the original one. He gives all of the women a valley girl accent except for French born Madeleine who somehow had a Scots Irish accent.

The narrator is way too perky
Revisado: 04-26-24
I really wanted to follow this series despite a very basic storyline, but halfway through the second book, I am done. Most of the story is just friends hanging out and talking to an extremely excited president. Maybe if the narrator was different and it wasn't read like a Tony Robbins event I could have stuck with it.

Basic Story, Poor Performance
Revisado: 04-23-24
I was surprised for such a basic and often corny dialog from Child. Maybe it was the narrator who always put an overly cheesy voice on in greetings and interacting with others. Nobody is that enthusiastic and perky. Given the overly religious enthusiasm from Connie I hope it does grow in the upcoming works.

Interesting, but basic plot.
Revisado: 03-31-24
I have enjoyed all of the books in this series, it is a topic with many paths as the author noted. However, there are a few quirks that are annoying. The narrator is good, but he has a high saliva drive in his regular voice and even more pronounced in the different voices. I have never heard so many people in need of a spit. Then there are several basic inaccurate items names - it is the Resolute Desk, not Resolution. The desk was made from the HMS Resolute. It is the National Security Agency and not the National Security Administration. I imagine there are more I missed since it appears the author did limited research.

Is the narrator AI?
Revisado: 02-07-24
The story was good and part of an enjoyable series. However, the narrator is horrible for this. He would be perfect narrating rides at Disney. He is robotic and a speed reader making it impossible to identify the character speaking.
