I really enjoyed this book! It gave me all the feels of a classic 50s style black and white sci-fi film where a large monster terrorizes a city. Also, it is laced with nice bits of subtle humor. I can’t wait to read more!

If you are in your late 20s or 30s, you will be blasted back to your teenage years. It's a perfect blend of every nerdy culture thing you can imagine. Perfect choice picking Wil Wheaton to read this! LISTEN TO THIS BOOK!!!

It's a good enough story, I just felt little under whelmed. Honestly, if this was the new Star Wars film, it would garner the same reaction as The Phantom Menace. I understand that it is the first of three book, but not a lot happens. There a few characters in it that I suspect will be in The Force Awakens. So, it's got that going for it. I just hope the rest of the canon comes up with some more interesting stories.

When I selected this book I thought I was getting a creative tales of amazing writers and artist creating some of the most fantastic fictional characters ever. Instead, it was a story of a rainy day that lasted from 1939 to the present. It is a chronological story of each writer and artist coming to Marvel comics with hope of a promising career only to be overworked, underpaid, an told by money hungry corporate owners how to steer their art. Spoiler alert: eventually, almost every artist that started at Marvel ends up at DC. It's a fascinating story, but as a comic book lover, I feel nothing but pity for most of the creators I admire. I recommend it, but not if you are looking for a pick-me-up! This is simply a story of human nature and the terrible things we do to each other for money.
