Historia
How is it that the law enforcer itself does not have to keep the law? How is it that the law permits the state to lawfully engage in actions which, if undertaken by individuals, would land them in jail? These are among the most intriguing issues in political and economic philosophy. More specifically, the problem of law that itself violates law is an insurmountable conundrum of all statist philosophies. The problem has never been discussed so profoundly and passionately as in this essay by Frederic Bastiat from 1850. This essay might have been written today. It applies to our own time.

Historia
Followers of Christ need to relearn what it means to stand courageously for their faith rather than merely survive in a climate of fear. Instead of motivating believers to action, today's headlines appear to be paralyzing them. Standing in the Fire demonstrates the church triumphant through the lives of people who stood strong and didn't run away in the face of overwhelming danger. These Middle Eastern heroes of faith fear God more than terrorist groups like ISIS.

Historia
Liberalism or How to Turn Good Men into Whiners, Weenies and Wimps documents the role of the 21 white, self-avowed socialist, atheist, and Marxist founders of the NAACP and their impact on the black community's present status at the top of our nation's misery index. It highlights the decades of anti-black legislation supported by liberal black leaders who prioritized class over race in their zeal for the promises of socialism.

Best political book I've read in years.

Best political book I've read in years.
Revisado: 07-09-17
Owens deserves major credit for taking such an unpopular stance, yet his logic is sound and his principles are obvious. This book, while being written primarily through a black American's perspective with a likewise audience, ought to be read by every American. Very powerful. A side note: who wouldn't want a man like this for president?!

Historia
In Making Sense of the Bible, Adam Hamilton invites us into an honest conversation about the Bible. The book begins with foundational questions such as: How and when was the Bible written? Who decided which books made it into the scriptures and why? How literally must we read it? And, is the Bible ever wrong? From there, Hamilton considers the real questions people frequently ask that continue to divide Christians and denominations alike

thoughtful, and makes you question old beliefs
Revisado: 12-22-16
this thoughtful book makes me question the belief structures I've grown up with. a challenging, intelligent book. I've grown a lot reading this, and will wrestle with my faith but undoubtedly grow more in faith after reading.

Excellent examination of why Good exists.
Revisado: 09-20-16
this is an excellent and well-written book that examines why God must exist. It is not an easy read, and the audio version makes it much easier to process. I love it when the author reads the book because you get a better idea of how they intended it to read as well.

Distracting narration
Revisado: 08-25-16
Would you try another book from M. D. Ireman and/or Matt Cowlrick?
Yes
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Strange voices.. I'm not into narrators who are so quirky. Just read the story and let me imagine the voices of the characters.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Story was probably better through reading then this strange narration.
