Historia
Larissa Stark is many things. Wife, mother, devoted friend, and unhappy. Her seemingly charmed life in a New Jersey suburb should leave her fulfilled and content. Instead, she feels increasingly isolated and empty. But when she has a chance encounter with an intriguing stranger, her idyllic existence is exposed for the sham it is and leads her to question everything she once firmly believed. As Larissa is faced with one impossible choice after another, she begins to contemplate the unthinkable and struggles with the question: how does one woman follow a divided heart?

This is the best fictional piece I’ve ever heard! Fantastic narrator. Long listening time!
I love how this author writes. Don’t start this book on Friday. You won’t get anything done all weekend .

Historia
Melissa Craig is absolutely delighted with her new life in an old crumbling cottage, spending her days pruning the primroses and getting to know Binkie, the ginger cat next door. She only wishes she had made the move to the countryside sooner. But when a knock at the door brings news of a shocking discovery, she suddenly finds herself thrown in to the middle of a baffling mystery: the bones of a young woman have been found in the woods just behind her new home. Perhaps the little village of Upper Bembury is not as idyllic as it first seemed? Strange phone calls in the night convince Melissa that the police are barking up completely the wrong tree, so she can’t resist doing a little digging of her own. From the bingo hall to the beauty salon and beyond, her search ruffles a few feathers and uncovers many of the village’s most scandalous secrets, but gets her no closer to finding the culprit.

When Izzy Spellman, PI, is arrested for the fourth time in three months, she writes it off as a job hazard. She's been (obsessively) keeping surveillance on a suspicious next door neighbor (suspect's name: John Brown), convinced he's up to no good - even if her parents (the management at Spellman Investigations) are not.

NARRATOR DOES MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
Revisado: 03-20-18
What did you love best about Curse of the Spellmans?
I loved book no. 1! The next two books in the series were very close to breaking the deal. It wasn't so much the story, it was the shock of a different narrator for books # 2-3. Christina Moore's variation in voice, accent, speed, and tone is what made the characters all so funny to me. I guess someone figured this out because she is back to narrate book # 4.
Thank you!

In the days of pre-Civil War slavery - the unforgettable novel of a shocking portion of our American heritage. The time was not all magnolia blossoms and crinolines. It was more than romance and splendor. It was debauchery and slavery, gambling tables and dens of iniquity. It was murder and forgiveness. It was all the great contradiction of life in a golden era...

Has the author ever head of a clitoris?
Revisado: 12-12-17
Although I enjoyed this story overall it was difficult at times to keep the characters straight. The male characters seem to have first and last names that could be interchangeable. It confused me and therefore annoyed me.
These steamy love scenes with the addition of the taboo were still strangely exciting. I had no idea oral sex was given so generously to the women who could reach arousal without mention of the magic button.

If I hear that phrase once more I'll lose it!
Revisado: 06-08-17
The title and focus of the novel was of a group of 19th century women who bonded during their quilting meetings. They refer to themselves as the Persian Pickle Club.
The character who narrates constantly mentioned this club. I just hated it. Hundreds of phrases about "the Persian Pickles, she's a Persian Pickle after all, it's my turn to host the Persian Pickle Club" and so on. My complaint maybe lame however I've never had a book title annoy me so.

Paper and Pen Required-notes necessary!
Revisado: 01-29-17
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes, time well spent because I enjoyed the book series.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Things got so confusing with decoding grama's secret messages, ancesoral family connections, and ghosts that listening became work! To understand I felt I would need to take notes to refer to so I could remember who was connected to who etc!
Which character – as performed by Aimée Bruneau – was your favorite?
Melanie, although highly annoying is also funny with her personal insights and opinions of others.
Did The Girl on Legare Street inspire you to do anything?
read the next book and hope it was better!
Any additional comments?
The Jack and Melanie love hate theme is getting OLD! I want to slap them both!

OMG! Had no idea!
Revisado: 12-08-15
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
The limited description of this title looked interesting. An audible book that has a listening time of over 20 hours was also a selling point for me. It's a sci-fi nightmare! Seven more listening hours and I still don't understand the title, who's good and who is bad, and hearing it a second time is NOT an option!
Don't waste your time or money unless you enjoy keeping notes to understand who is who and what the hell their character is supposed to do to support the story! I'm disappointed in myself for listening as long as I did!
What was most disappointing about David Mitchell’s story?
Words cannot express it!
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
I do enjoy stories with different narrators to fit the age and gender of the characters. I just wish I could figure out what the hell they were talking about! Moving from this century to the future then the past, First in England, then America, then Russia, then, where are we now?
What character would you cut from The Bone Clocks?
Crispen Hershey? Annoyingly pompous! His name made me hungry.

Love to be surprised at the end!
Revisado: 08-11-15
What did you love best about A Hidden Secret?
This story involved a crime 35 years ago, the murder of a family. Four people were responsible. It was intreging how the author discusses current day events involving the victims and perps along with their history.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm I think Kate's team of officers is great! Loyal, non-questioning, and on it when she gives orders. Refreshing to have a female lead respected and her judgment unquestioned!
Which scene was your favorite?
Finding out the murder's motive during the interrogation.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the amish mother was taken away. One could imagine her torture and death.
Any additional comments?

Historia
An extraordinarily beautiful Amish woman, a dangerous femme fatale, is the central figure in Linda Castillo's Her Last Breath, a story that reveals a dark side of Painter's Mill and its seemingly perfect Amish world. A rainy night, an Amish father returning home with his three children, a speeding car hurtling toward them out of nowhere. What at first seems like a tragic, but routine car accident suddenly takes on a more sinister cast as evidence emerges that nothing about the crash is accidental.

Not a surprise who did it.
Revisado: 08-06-15
If you could sum up Her Last Breath in three words, what would they be?
Since I guessed who the guilty person was early, the book seemed a bit drawn out. The motive of the killer is most interesting to me. I felt this part was sparsely written.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kate of course!
What does Kathleen McInerney bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Differences in characters as she changes her voice.
If you could rename Her Last Breath, what would you call it?
