Excellent narration peformance. It got a bit confusing at times, but I stuck with it and it all unraveled. Bought this on sale and it was such a nice surprise.

Who doesn't love an octopus? Sweet narration, fully painting the picture and personality of Tova, a character you care about.

I will have to find more narrations by Steven Weber. He put so much character into his voice, it was almost like listening to a movie. Story line was good, similar to The Fugitive, but not.

So, good, until the end.

Great build up, and I was sitting on the edge of my seat awaiting the great whodunnit solve. I wan't a fan of this ending. It was boring and too Man bashing for me, particularly when the protagonist is a mother of 2 young sons. I was hoping for a more complex surprise me ending, but this one just fizzled out and the puzzle of bringing it the story to a true climax died.

Jodi usually writes from all perspectives, giving the reader something to think about. Not this time. Clearly, she holds only one perspective on this matter, so I opened my mind to listen in hopes of gaining insight into the selfish, irresponsible actions that make folks feel entitled to murder. if anything, Jodi has convinced me, they've got nothing.

Pointless

Quite a few spots where the story started to get interesting and the possibilities were endless. Unfortunately, instead of taking advantage of these spots and building on the suspense and having something meaningful occur, the author chose a non-climatic route before starting again in another direction. I kept believing there might be a point to the story and held on until the end. There wasn't. I found myself caring less and less about the "9 perfect strangers" as the story unfolded. Considering 3 were family, and 2 were married to each other, I was hard pressed to understand why they were being called strangers, perfect or otherwise. As others noted, the narrator was painful to listen to.

Loved! Far superior to movie

Captivating with great characters, giving clear insight into racial emotions, love, and misunderstandings. Bahni Turpin is an excellent reader/actress, who put herself fully into each character role. The movie was good, but the character talents given by Turpin were far superior to the director's vision.
