Historia
A masterful biography of the U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations during World War II, Citizen Soldiers provides a compelling account of the extraordinary stories of ordinary men in their fight for democracy. From the high command on down to the enlisted men, Stephen E. Ambrose draws on hundreds of interviews and oral histories from men on both sides who were there.

NEVER FORGET!!
Revisado: 05-11-18
My entire life (in my 50s now) I have been enthralled with WWII. As a innocent child watching all the exciting WWII movies, the heroes and action. Then as I grew older and more mature realizing the sacrifice, the hardships, the horror and the waste of war in general. Never have I heard a better history of this epic event told, from the beginning of D-Day to the end of the war, as I have with this book. I can't emphasize enough how great I thought this book is. This book shared from the stories from the GIs themselves left such an impression on me, that I can't stop thinking about it. It brought out such a range of emotions to me. Pride (for having the privilege to have been raised in the same country that these brave men and women fought for), a deep sadness (for all the losses that were incurred. The lives that were loss, the potential that was loss, and just hearing the horrors that humans can do to each other. Shear amazement the hardships that these men and women endured. The will to survive, and some of the unbelievable acts of selflessness and heroism. I will try to NEVER complain again. I truly believe this book (this story) should be a mandatory read in High School. This is the kind of book (story) that must NEVER BE FORGOTTEN, and should be passed down from generation to generation. We owe it to every man, women and child that went through this horrific chapter of mankind, that it is never forgotten as so we never repeat it.
George Wilson did a great job narrating this epic story. I absolutely had a hard time stopping this story, and looking forward to starting it up every time I got in my car.
A MUST READ. And finally a sincere heartfelt THANK YOU to every Veteran in this great country.

Historia
Southern Afghanistan was slipping away. That was clear to then-Captain Rusty Bradley as he began his third tour of duty there in 2006. The Taliban and their allies were infiltrating everywhere, poised to reclaim Kandahar Province, their strategically vital onetime capital. To stop them, the NATO coalition launched Operation Medusa, the largest offensive in its history. The battlefield was the Panjwayi Valley, a densely packed warren of walled compounds that doubled neatly as enemy bunkers.

I am not a very creative writer, so I know I cannot capture how I truly feel about this book. I had a hard time stopping it. I hung on every word of this story. The heroism, dedication, selflessness, patriotism, and general bad ass-ness is over the top. This story, and so many like it, from all of our brave men and women throughout our military branches, inspire me so. After listening to a story like this, and then find myself complaining about traffic or some BS, it has made me stop in my tracks and tell myself to "shut the hell up". It has, and always will inspire me to be a better citizen of this great country. Everybody should hear this story. From the bottom of my heart I thank each and everyone of you involved in this book, as well as each and every serviceman/servicewomen serving our country.

Historia
In Legend, acclaimed best-selling author Eric Blehm takes as his canvas the Vietnam War as seen through a single mission that occurred on May 2, 1968. A 12-man Special Forces team had been covertly inserted into a small clearing in the jungles of neutral Cambodia - where US forces were forbidden to operate. Their objective, just miles over the Vietnam border, was to collect evidence that proved the North Vietnamese Army was using the Cambodian sanctuary as a major conduit for supplying troops and materiel to the south via the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Inspirational to say the least.

If you could sum up Legend in three words, what would they be?
Inspiring. Proud. Humbling.
What did you like best about this story?
Fred Sanders was a great reader. But the best part of the story is Raul Perez "Roy" Benavidez. What a warrior, patriot, selfless human being. This story made me pause and think so many times. Tears in my eyes for all the sacrifices so many made during the war, and my heart breaks to think that they were spat upon and vulgarities yelled when they returned from Vietnam. I am pleased to see how the times have changed in regards on how we greet and honor our military veterans today. I think society and present generations realize now that politics, and our veterans who serve, are two different entities. You don't have to agree with the politics, but (in my humble opinion) you ALWAYS honor and support your military veterans. And I honestly believe the support our present day veterans experience is because as a nation we learned that the way the Vietnam veterans were treated was flat out WRONG. Thank you Master Sargeant Raul Perez "Roy" Benavidez, your family and ALL who serve this country.
Which scene was your favorite?
The whole book.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The best of the best.
Any additional comments?
Just a thank you to all involved for bringing this story to light. Everyone should hear it.

Historia
Team Yankee, the New York Times best-seller by Harold Coyle, presents a glimpse of what it would have been like for the soldiers who would have had to meet the relentless onslaught of Soviet and Warsaw Pact divisions. Using the geo-political and military scenarios described by General Sir John Hackett, former NORTHAG commander and author of World War Three; August 1985, Team Yankee follows the war as seen from the turret of Captain Sean Bannon's tank.
