Historia
John Carter is back for another adventure in this classic interplanetary tale of Barsoom from Edgar Rice Burroughs. In an attempt to put an end to a wave of murders carried out by the notorious Assassins Guild, John goes to the Martian city of Zodanga. When he arrives however, he discovers much more than he ever could have imagined.

My favorite Barsoom story, marred by a strange performance
Revisado: 08-26-24
Perhaps one of the best of Burrough's Martian stories, but odd voicing choices made this a very difficult listen. Characters spoke in effete tones, deep southern or California valley girl accents, and were jarringly out of place in this story, and greatly detracted from my enjoyment. This isn't to say the performance was bad, as it would fit in other genres, only that the characterizations felt distractingly inappropriate for this work.

Historia
From the ruins of Stonehenge to the starships of Vallon he sought the secret of a trace of memory. When the man named Legion signed on as a soldier of fortune, he did not expect to end up as the master of a private island, nor to cower in ancient druid pits, nor fight for his life in the great hall of Okk-Hamiloth on a planet galaxies away.

A good story ruined by a comically bad reading

A good story ruined by a comically bad reading
Revisado: 09-10-22
The narrator chose to voice characters in comically silly ways, with groan-worthy accents and goofy inflections. Yes, it's a classic pulp sci-fi sort of yarn and not terribly serious, but it's a fun story and deserved better than this treatment.
