How does trauma affect a child's mind—and how can that mind recover? In the classic The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog, Dr. Perry explains what happens to the brains of children exposed to extreme stress and shares their lessons of courage, humanity, and hope. Only when we understand the science of the mind and the power of love and nurturing can we hope to heal the spirit of even the most wounded child.

While the world seems to be in love with the idea of tiny houses and minimalism, many of us simply can't purge it all and start from nothing. Yet a home with too much stuff is difficult to maintain, so where do we begin? Add in paralyzing emotional attachments and constant life challenges, and it can feel almost impossible to make real decluttering progress.

Great book filled with good reminders
Revisado: 02-20-22
I really enjoyed this book and felt like the author understood my perspective on my journey of minimalizing and decluttering. I did like the narration however I felt that the narrations voice did not match the author's style of writing. a minor detail that would not keep me from recommending the book. Enjoy it

Historia
Fumio Sasaki is not an enlightened minimalism expert or organizing guru like Marie Kondo - he's just a regular guy who was stressed out and constantly comparing himself to others, until one day he decided to change his life by saying goodbye to everything he didn't absolutely need. The effects were remarkable: Sasaki gained true freedom, new focus, and a real sense of gratitude for everything around him.

Good book 📚 to help you get started
Revisado: 12-18-21
overall this was a great book whether you're a beginner or you need to come back to minimalizing it is not verbally appropriate for children to be around as it does mention a few adult topics however the last chapter is incredibly inspiring on so many different areas as well as the chapter that goes over the results in your life from minimalizing

Eye opening, thought provoking and overall great
Revisado: 03-01-21
Eye opening, thought provoking and overall great book. It helped me quickly start recognizing fascist comments on social media that were disguised as partial truths, an easily liked post by many but when looked through a greater lens you could see the fascist heart it was being said with. I'm thankful for this book being able to put words to what I've been seeing in American and Universal politics. I am a Conservative Christian American that believes we should have our eyes wide open to what is happening.
