Just could not buy into the story

Story could have been interesting but it just wasn’t for me. Riddle seems to really like making their characters drug addicts. Other works appealed more to me.

It’s like you can’t read anything new without the author pandering to some woke mob. Of course the most evil thing he can think of is a white male father.

Lost me at LGBT side story

Was some what enjoying the book without the lesbian daughter and tough dad who came to grips and fought for his daughters write to gay marriage because in other countries they’d kill her for being gay narrative. Felt contrived, like there was some woke bonus from the publisher for throwing it in.

Decent story Cline is clearly going out of his way to make his writing progressively more woke. Wouldn’t be surprised to see future works become unreadable but this was still pretty interesting and nostalgic

“We’ll never destroy the global patriarchy unless...”

Scientist thinks he is smart enough to end death but is too stupid not to let teachers indoctrinate his child. Some interesting stuff in here but ultimately the author is a shitlib advocating for bio tracking to “end pandemics” and giving up yet more privacy for the “common good”. Hints here and there at his sh1tlib views. Ultimately this author is a bugman who wants you to stop eating meat.

The only thing this has inspired in me is a desire to write a law that the writers of health science literature be forced to post physique on book jackets. 1/10 would not listen to again

The peak of intellectual cowardice

I am beyond exhausted of these conservatives talking about left wing terrorists and comparing them to fascists and Nazis in order to appeal to a broader crowd. They weren’t like “Nazis” they were communists. Italian fascism and Nazism and nationalist movements throughout Europe arose to fight against left wing violence and rioters. Conservatives must compare communists to fascists in order to gatekeep, these milquetoast conservatives have never one an inch of ground in the culture war and that is why they are endlessly calling communists fascists.

Low score for modernism

Asserts the death of George Floyd, claims it was a racially charged killing and waxes poetic about Democracy as if the church had always been pro-Democratic and about his love for Hollywood movies.

I wish I could return this book but I’m at my limit of having returned books. Really this affirms my decision to simply not read anything written by anyone who was alive and young in the 60s
