The Boys Are Back!
Revisado: 12-08-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this anyone who enjoys a fun fantasy. If you know and love Riyria, this is another great installment. If you don't, that's ok too as this one can be read as a standalone. And as always, Tim Gerard Reynolds does a great job with the narration.
Who was your favorite character and why?
That is a very difficult question.I love Hadrian and Royce both. They are such opposites and as such have a great working and friendship dynamic.
Have you listened to any of Tim Gerard Reynolds and Michael J. Sullivan ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. I have listened to all of them. It is equally as good as the others.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, but that's because I'm not prone to that. I could count on one hand and still have fingers left over the number of books I have wanted to listen to in a single sitting. That said, I did enjoy sitting down to this one for long stretches at a time.
Any additional comments?
This was another great entry in the Riyria Chronicles. The story in and of itself is interesting. In terms of the development of the Riyria partnership- this was a great entry there as well. The boys find themselves in lots of trouble and have many a meaningful conversation in this one. This entry in the series provides an adventure while bringing Hadrian and Royce one step closer to being the men they are in the Riyria Revelations series.I would highly recommend not just this book, but the entire series to any fantasy fan.

Historia
Even when the sailing is smooth, the stories never stop in Jerome K. Jerome's comic novel. Plaster fishes, dead water rats, near-death escapes, and many, many jocose anecdotes create a colorful narrative of holiday life on the river. For once three hypochondriacs self-diagnose themselves as "clearly overworked", the rest practically writes itself!

A Classic, Funny Tale
Revisado: 09-20-17
If you could sum up Three Men in a Boat [Classic Tales Edition] in three words, what would they be?
Everything Goes Wrong
Who was your favorite character and why?
You get to be the most familiar with "J", the one telling the story. As such, he became my favorite. I felt the other two were there just to provide him with partners in this misadventure.
Which character – as performed by B. J. Harrison – was your favorite?
Jerome, or "J", the one telling the story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were numerous moments in this book that had me laughing out loud.
Any additional comments?
The antics of the three young men and the dog can be downright hilarious as just about everything goes wrong. Along the way they also share stories about things that happened to family, friends or friends of friends. The story add even more amusing dimensions to this funny tale.
If you are looking for a fairly short funny classic, this one is for you.

Historia
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Classic Story, Great Performance
Revisado: 10-27-15
I had been meaning to read Dracula for ages. When I found this audible edition, I knew it was definitely time.
The cast was great. A full cast allowed each character to really come alive. That isn't always the case with audiobooks. Some narrators are great at telling the story, but not so great at giving "life" to the characters in those stories. The cast really made it easy to get immersed in the story and how the characters were feeling as things moved along.
As for the story itself, it is a classic but it is not perfect. It seems to take a long time to really get moving, then the ending feels very rushed and almost abrupt. The writing style takes some getting used to as it is a bit choppy at times. Once I got used to it, I decided that this storytelling worked for this story. It wouldn't for all, but it does for this one.
A word of caution- keep in mind when this story was written. The portrayal of the characters is reflective of the time when it was written. If you go in with modern expectations, you will be irritated if not flat out offended at the attitudes towards and portrayals of the women in this book. If you can keep it in the context of its time and not let your modern views overshadow everything, this is a classic story and very influential story that is enjoyable.
I would highly recommend that everyone read this at least once.
