I saw the review about this being an open ending and how they thought it was not a good thing....I on the other hand am thrilled it could be a series!! This was a fun ride that left me wanting more. Hopefully I will not have to wait to long. The characters were interesting and I actually liked them. The plot was very engaging and clever ..I liked how there was A LARGE gray area for right and wrong. I found myself being amused by the references that were peppered throughout the story line...K-POP...I am hopeful there will be another one following this one.

This reading is a new version of the original one...and I'm not happy. The reader Emma Wilders interpretation turned Vanessa into a very whiny character...I'm cringing listening to it...I WANT MY ORIGINAL ONE BACK !!!! Do preview this before buying it.

Very toxic romance

I’m honestly shocked by how much I hated this. I normally love Eloisa James books. Not this one. The male lead is jealous and controlling. He tries to dictate how Yasmin dresses, behaves, and how she interacts with the opposite sex. She is allowed to be sexy and flirtatious, only in service to him. He blames her for the way others see her, believes rumors about her, and doesn’t defend her when his sister viciously attacks her.
Genuinely hated him. Yasmin deserved better.

I read this series of books and loved them. ...so I thought i'll get them to listen to when i don't have the band-width to concentrate but want the noise.. Great idea. Then I listened to the first of the 3 I purchased and was like, hell no. I found the reader Neva to have such a strong annoying voice it was a struggle to listen to it. She made Francine sound so whiney it change the personality of the character I was envisioning in the book. I couldn't get past it,so I actually returned all 3 books that she narrated for this series. I highly recommend reading them..they are free on kindle unlimited. I also want to point out the male narrator Jason was fantastic, he really represented Benny for me. Jason gets 5 stars and Neva.. I just don't know how to rate her narration other than 1 star...only because she can actually read.

This is a very slow story line… I skipped ahead because I just couldn’t listen anymore but I always need to actually finish a book… soooo. And I’m going to say a spoiler.. sorry.. was it really necessary to kill the dog off? I mean, come on , WTF. I also didn’t like the very minuscule growth of the main character. It was just eh.
