Historia
Tiffany can't avoid being funny: it's just who she is. But The Last Black Unicorn is so much more than a side-splittingly hilarious collection of essays - it's a memoir of the struggles of one woman who came from nothing and nowhere. A woman who was able to achieve her dreams by reveling in her pain and awkwardness, showing the world who she really is, and inspiring others through the power of laughter.

My new favorite human
Revisado: 02-12-18
Tiffany Haddish just became my new favorite human. Her life story is crazy. Crazy funny, crazy sad, and just plain old crazy most of the time. It’s amazing to see where she started and where she is and witness her rise to super stardom in real-time as a result of this book. I didn’t think I would be laughing out loud like other reviewers said, but I was very wrong. She ends the book with reflection and lessons learned from making it as a black woman in Hollywood, which is an applicable and inspiring message to all working women and the adversities that we face.

Historia
In Being Mortal, best-selling author Atul Gawande tackles the hardest challenge of his profession: how medicine can not only improve life but also the process of its ending. Medicine has triumphed in modern times, transforming birth, injury, and infectious disease from harrowing to manageable. But in the inevitable condition of aging and death, the goals of medicine seem too frequently to run counter to the interest of the human spirit.

Changed my knowledge and perspective as a young adult
Revisado: 09-21-17
This book helped me cope during my grandfather’s decline in health. I experienced a roller coaster of emotions- I cried, I was angry, I learned something and felt empowered. As a young adult who had a really hard time seeing aging and death from the perspective of a caretaker and an elderly person, this book made me realize how precious and complicated end of life care is. I feel better equipped to support my grandfather and my family in making the right decisions during this difficult time.
