Historia
Savine dan Glokta, once Adua's most powerful investor, finds her judgement, fortune and reputation in tatters. But she still has all her ambitions, and no scruple will be permitted to stand in her way. For heroes like Leo dan Brock and Stour Nightfall, only happy with swords drawn, peace is an ordeal to end as soon as possible. But grievances must be nursed, power seized, and allies gathered first, while Rikke must master the power of the Long Eye...before it kills her.

Solid audio book.

Steven Pacey is a wonderful performer. Joe Ambercrombie is a great writer. I think some folks dont like this book bc they see themselves in Stower Knight Fall and Brock. folks reviewing are saying the book is full of weak men and strong women. firstly, would that be terrible if it were true? Are you that fragile? Do you hate strong women that much?
Secondly it false. this book is full of people strong at times weak at others, which is true to life. You want strong men? Look at Clover, look at Orso(who has a wonderful arc btw. Look at shivers. look at glokta the elder, pike and broad the bull(hes a bit of 9 fingers clone though). look at gorst and tunny.(apologize for the name spelling I listened to and didn't read it. obviously.
stack those numbers against the intelligent, powerful, women and the score is incredibly lopsided towards the strong men.
Ambercrombie includes arguably three to four strong women "if" you include sabine. which you might not want to considering the following spoilers. sabine glokta gia a prego, incestuous, coke head, bitch who's henpecked her closeted moron of husband nearly to his death. And loses everything trying not to feel weak again bc she's psycho narcissist. And somehow the book is full of weak men and woke women. only two of which are main characters. ricker who is a strong female. and sabine who isnt.

Historia
It turns out, the "Demon Weed" actually is a gateway drug! Who knew? Tom Perkinje certainly didn't. He had never smoked anything in his life, but as the new kid in town trying to make friends, he foolishly let his new buddy Reggie talk him into trying a joint that he'd picked up from a new dealer. Before he knew it, Tom was having a seriously bad trip; a total out-of-body experience where the world had dissolved around him.

started weak then got great
Revisado: 10-23-20
this is a very silly book. but it's very good. gets better as it goes. some of the characters are bit too stubborn. like nonsensically stubborn. but I get the author is pretty bluntly making a point about prejudice and the hypocrisy of organized religion.
it felt a little like john waters narrating a fantasy novel. but since it so silly it works. please enjoy.

Dont do voices...
Revisado: 10-24-15
What made the experience of listening to Shaman, Sister, Sorceress the most enjoyable?
If you can't do voices without being offensive don't do it. SK sounds like he is well qualified to represent the lolly pop guild. Leon sounds mentally handicapped. Coco sounds like a stereotype as well. I found the performance offensive. I half read this book after reading the first two and listening to this was almost painful.
What did you like best about this story?
great story. very inventive and makes the unbelievable believable.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Celia Aurora de Blas?
Someone who wouldn't try to do voices if they couldn't do them well.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
You saw him in knights of badassdom, game of thrones, and now in Techno shaman.
Any additional comments?
Really cool series. pretty bad narration, but not so bad I quit listening.
