Lack of closure, waste or of money in the end.

I found that the characters did not grow thru out the series. Each were let to stagnate in their weakness unable to get past their backstory. Thus, it looked like the author got bored and ended the storyline in such a way as to make sure readers left not wanting to comeback for more. Urvi left to many threads flapping, the story had a great deal of potential but unfortunately as a reader you will be left unclear as to the reason for the plot or what the author was actually trying to accomplish.

Character development

I love the storyline and world building. Sadly the characters emotionally do not develop well, though they physically grow and learn. Emotionally they stay stunted even when there are obvious changes to accept. Plus the constant referral to main character’s friend as “the creature “ even by those closest to “it”. Hopefully as the series continues these development issues will change for all of the main characters. Again I love the storyline, just find these development issues a little frustrating.

Lack of character growth

I love the story and world. The entire story has great potential but the main two Characters do not seem to grow even in the midst of life lessons. Both are extremely self absorbed and handled in in opposite ways one as an extremely antisocial and poisonous person, pretending to hate people yet longing to be a part, yet also having a high opinion of what she considers her knowledge and not wanting to adjust to the the world. The second stays naive almost to the point of idiocy in spite of numerous life experiences in the new world. Both could keep some of those traits but based on the extreme experiences in the books they do not adjust even in small amounts. Lots of potential and the narrator is good so I will probably continue unless I cannot get past the lack of growth in the main Characters here’s hoping.

I found the new storyline very captivating. I hope that the new character continues. Cannot wait to see if it will become a solid series.

Great story!!

I loved this story. It was different from the Jane Yellowrock series books but great in its own way just like them. There were new faces and some old, which was wonderful. I look forward to more books about Nell and all the lovely characters in this story. Thank you Faith Hunter for another wonderful way to be absorbed into Jane Yellowrock's world.

Overall, I liked the story line and the characters. My only dislike was the way the reader made Marci sound like she was 16 instead of 25. Otherwise it was an interesting take on dragons, mages, and magic.
