Anytime an author tries to make current events woven into the story It rarely works. Trying to weave covid into the story is a losing event. First the info in the book is going to be a year old, secondly the authors personal biases will always show threw. The references that the (trump) vaccine was going to fix things rings hollow, then the authors notes, which is the standard Trump-Russian screed is just tiresome. I read fiction to escape like watching a movie, if I wanted current history I read non-fiction. probably done with the Gabriel Allon series.

Another Arliss winner

loving the Arliss Cutter series, having spent most of my life commercial fishing in alaska, I appreciate the accuracy of locations, Chandlers narration is spot on, he Guidell and Brick are by far my favorite readers. One trivial point, on securing there skiff Chandler says Arliss secured the Bow line as in bow-tie, it is a bow line as in bow-wow, made me 😅laugh AHH land lubbers. Can't wait for next in series Marc Cameron scores again.

good follow up

l like this auther. story is engaging and not too make believe. also is over 15 hours long. not the run of the mill 9 hours super spy book. Ray Porter is on of the best readers in the biz along with Guidell.

So Disappointing

the first half of the book is classic Winslow, but alas it devolves into the same old tired political screed. YEA YEA YEA Trump is the devil incarnate. the thinly veiled references are trite and lazy. So old So tired so California. While I will surely buy his next book. But if that one goes the same it will be my last for Winslow. I miss Neal Carey, Nicholai Hel, Jack Wade a good story is what I buy Audible books for not yellow journalism.

Jake turns into a marvel comic book

Jake was so much more interesting as a grey listed former Delta. now he is at the Pinnacle of power with Secretary of defense taking orders from him shot stabbed bean bagged yet still able to parachute to find his love Cassie. just a little bit too comic book for me. Even Reacher is more beliveable.
