Historia
The happy life Faith McMann knew as a wife, mother, and teacher was destroyed when vicious criminals murdered her husband, kidnapped her children, and left her for dead. After paralyzing grief, fear, and despair, there was nothing left for her to feel...except fury. But striking a staggering blow against a brutal ring of human traffickers was just the beginning of her uphill battle.

Can't wait to listen to #3!
Revisado: 04-03-17
Have you listened to any of Kate Rudd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have, I really enjoy this series - and Kate Rudd reads them all. I sometimes find her a little choppy to listen to, but for the most part I enjoy her narration. If you've listened to her before, this is right on par for her other performances.
Any additional comments?
I have become invested in the characters in the series, and found myself buying book 3 right after (seriously... book 2 ends.... confirm purchase!) as I can't wait to hear what's in store next for them!

Historia
Sugar Legowski-Gracia wasn't always fat, but fat is what she is now at age seventeen. Not as fat as her mama, who is so big she hasn't gotten out of bed in months. Not as heavy as her brother, Skunk, who has more meanness in him than fat, which is saying something. But she's large enough to be the object of ridicule wherever she is: at the grocery store, walking down the street, at school. Sugar's life is dictated by taking care of Mama in their run-down home - cooking, shopping, and, well, eating.

What about Tara Sands’s performance did you like?
I really enjoyed her tone and her differentiation of the characters.
Any additional comments?
I wasn't sure that I was going to enjoy this book. I was looking for something different, and found it! I am happy that I purchased this to listen to. A moving story, and not typical. A good listen for sure.

But there are forces more lethal than Gentry in the world. And in their eyes, Gentry has just outlived his usefulness. Now, he is going to prove that for him, there's no gray area between killing for a living-and killing to stay alive.

I wish I could finish it... but I couldn't...twice
Revisado: 10-17-16
What disappointed you about The Gray Man?
I have tried to listen to this book twice... I cannot make it through. I find the narration to be very mono toned and hard to stay focused on. I missed out on parts of the story line as I found myself off in la la land. From what I can tell, I would find the book interesting, as the parts of the story that I was focused on, I enjoyed.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jay Snyder?
I honestly do not know, but someone with more variety to their voice. I like Jay Snyder as the one character, and I think that even if it was a shared narration, I probably would have made it through, at least one time.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I loved this book, what a refreshing change of pace! I am so happy for the daily deals, I have found a few gems that I otherwise wouldn't have seen. This was the case with this book, and I can't wait to start the second book!
What did you like best about this story?
The characters are fantastic, I laughed a lot!
What about Christina Moore’s performance did you like?
I think she did a good job, occasionally I got lost as to which character she was portraying as the differences in voice weren't as prominent for me.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I really enjoyed this listen. I liked the spin on the story, and the fact that it wasn't a typical story line. I found myself invested in the main character, trying to figure out what was up. I liked the character development of the other 2 "main" characters, and how they played into the story. There were a couple of plot twists, and I enjoyed how the book ended. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different!

Revisado: 01-26-16
At first I didn't know if I liked Barry Eisler as the narrator, but as I kept listening I started to enjoy it - I felt like I was getting the true emotion that the author (himself) had been portraying, as he was narrating.
Anyway, I was intrigued with the characters right from the start, and really got invested in the storyline. A great listen!

LOVE THIS SERIES!
Revisado: 08-20-15
If you could sum up The Fiery Cross in three words, what would they be?
Exciting. Twisty. Fantastic.
I could not just leave it at 3 words, as there are so many wonderful things to say. I absolutely love this series! I started by reading the first 3 books, but found that with the length of them, and my thirst for more.... the audio-book was the way to go, so I am able to listen while walking, working and driving. The story line never seems to waiver, it is always full of intrigue and suspense. The characters are easy to fall in love with, leaving me longing to follow their stories.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I have more than one favorite character -- I would have to say I always love Claire; strong in her convictions, and everything she does. Fearless and always interesting. Jenni is also one of my favorites, although not featured as much in this book as others.
Have you listened to any of Davina Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the 2nd book I have listened to by Davina Porter. I enjoy her voice, her tone. She is easy to understand, and transitions between characters flawlessly. There is always distinction in when she switches between characters; deeper voice for males, etc. Pleasant to listen to hours on end.
