I'm a sucker for hopeful apocalyptic fiction

It's not everybody's cup of tea, some people expect a lot of gore and violence in end-of-days scenarios, but I find that there's something very comforting about doomsday stories in which people do their best to survive. They band together, cobble together found family, learn from tragedy, acquire new skills and rebuild. It's a simple straightforward story, with a kind of predictable plot but I really enjoyed it and appreciated the author's reading and her Canadian accent :-)

Fabulous world-building & excellent story

Don't miss this fabulous listen from breakout author Juliette Wade. Exciting storyline rendered lyrically. I loved the first book in this series too, but there were some technical problems with the audio on that one. This one was just a pleasurable listen from beginning to end. I can't wait for Book 3 to come out and find out what's next for the inhabitants of Varin. As I neared the end of the story I had that bittersweet feeling you get when you don't want a great book to end. Enjoy. I'm a little envious of all of you who haven't read it yet. You're in for a treat.

What would have made Leadership, Team Building, Success: The Time to Be Great Is Now! better?
This guy spends half of each of his books trying to sell his other books. It is in very poor taste and extremely annoying. It makes me think he cares more about making money than delivering a sound message and helping his audience. Also, his attention to the rules of grammar is sloppy, which is particularly irksome since he urges his listeners to employ proper grammar.
