Has neither the charm of Potterverse (does not lean into the magic enough), nor the character depth of Sanderson's or Martin's work, leading to a very dry, dare I say bookish, experience.
Couldn't be bothered to finish.

An excellent continuation of the story, same high-quality voice-acting and sound design.
Caroline Ford still a standout as the "third sister" Penelope.

A monumental, must-read addition to any healthy eater's library, especially critical for anyone consuming plant matter (veggies, spices, tea), which is nearly everyone these days; up there with Taubes' treatement of sugar in Bad Calories, which convinced me to adopt animal product based #keto a decade ago.

I was both delighted and enlightened by Norton's similar approach to oxalate education in this book - starting out with the surprising wealth of historic understanding of the problem and modern disinterest and obliviousness, very strong paralels with obesity and diabetes treatement.
Some of the most fascinating points in the book lie on the very periphery of the topic of oxalate poisoning and treatement, such as renal biology, vascular cell epigenetics etc. and it is exactly this type of wider theoretical connectivity I am looking for in popular science books like this.

This book will surely be of interest to carnivore dieters also because it gives strong scientific arguments for what may otherwise be a very emotional or naturalistic appeal.

Rothfuss has a way with words unlike any I've had the pleasure to enjoy. The in-universe legends some of his characters tell to each other are properly religious and the many voices of the narrator carry the weight and dramatism spectacularly.
I'm playing the part about Lanre's death and rebirth to all my friends.

Glad to hear more on healthy money governance. Everyone is looking for ways to not have inflation obliterate their wealth, so the idea of "saving" has become old-fashioned; the modern panacea is to try and outpace any inflation by trying to "beat the market" with good investment - index funds etc., but I've heard it elsewhere, mainly from bitcoiners, that investments are over-saturated and one safe place to just 'save' many is bitcoin.

A delightful story of coming of age and self (re)discovery brought to life by top notch voicework.
Liam Cunningham is naturally great, but Caroline Ford as Penelope and David Gyasi as the ancient vampire Rook were the standouts for me.

Can't wait for a sequel.

I went inskeptical, dreading 'big oil' propoganda, but Alex provides a whole new way of looking at energy and climate 'crisis' - one of human flourishing. He makes indisputable arguments about reliability and wholesome hydrocarbons being used in chemistry we have no replacements for.

One minor suggestion is to perhaps slow the discussion down and summarize what's been said by the guest after a longer talking point, rather than jumping straight into another deep topic.

In any case, it was a pleasure listening to two knowledgeable people talking about a crucial topic.

A timeless monument of a book. A treatise on Economics as the overarching science to describe human - purposeful - action.
Full of quotable sharp wit and clearest economic thinking of the last (and 21st so far) century.
LvM warns of stateism and interventionism 70 years ago. Nothing's changed, if anything, things are even more grim.

Insider view by one of libertarian greats

John Allison brings a unique and sorely needed perspective to the discussion of 2008's crisis, especially the negative role of government - one that only a lifelong principle-driven banker and CEO can deliver.

The book consists of two parts.
The first is an exhilirating, extraordinarily deep dive into the numerous and varied aspects of how government controls (from FED to infinite debt guarantees to Mack/May) pervert the incentives of regulators and banks to ignore risk and misallocate resources.
The second half is Allisons' reiteration of Rand's libertarian ideals - leaving individuals free to pursue happiness and markets to correct as needed to represent reality.

Recommended reading for anyone trying to make sense of what has been going on in economy for the last two decades.

In this book authors focus specifically on the finance industry and how, viewed through Rand's objectivist morality, free banking that's unobstructed by the government is undoubtably a major force of good in the world, metaphorically, finance is to business what electrocity production is to industry.

Contains several interesting deep dives into usury through the ages, the great depression and 2008 crisis.
