I previously bought the abridged version and it made me so sad. It's such a relief to finally be able to listen to the real, hilarious, dramatic, wrenching thing. I am so grateful that the unabridged versions of this series are finally being released.

The amazing brainchild of two of Fantasy's best authors, particularly where magial alternate histories are concerned, I have seldom been so delighted to see one of my favorite books rendered in audio form. Lucy Rayner brings these personable characters to life perfectly. I was particularly impressed with the voices of Thomas and Miranda, who sounded even better than I could have imagined. If you have any regard for Jane Austen and magical fantasy, you really must listen to this. I knew how it would end, having read and reread the series often, and I was still on tenterhooks at the climax of both plots. I would write more, but I need to go and listen to The Grand Tour immediately.

I recommended this before I even finished

The style and storytelling of this book are as charming as Jack himself. I was only in chapter 2 or 3 before I suggested it. Fans of Leverage or the Fables comics should definitely pick this up, as should, really, anyone who saw Indiana Jones shoot the guy with the sword in Raiders of the Lost Arc, and thought, wow! common sense! or shouted at the characters in a horror film. Drew Hayes cleverly created characters who would take the most pragmatic route and then crafted circumstances to make them take the most interesting route. Roleplayers? This book/campaign was brought to you by an amazing DM. Enjoy.

Seriously abridged! It's not like these are long in the first place. Gah. The original story is amazing, this is almost boring, because you know, you took out half the parts that make the characters people.
