Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Wow…what a great book!
Revisado: 04-22-22
The title did not capture my attention. I read a few reviews and people were raving on this book. It is not my typical listen but I love nature and being in the woods so I decided to listen to this book. I am so glad I decided to get this book. I highly recommend this book. It made me angry at times, it made me laugh at times, and I actually shed a tear or two. Please take the time to listen to this incredible story. You will not be disappointed!

Historia
General Chuck Yeager was the greatest test pilot of them all - the first man to fly faster than the speed of sound...the World War II flying ace who shot down a Messerschmitt jet with a prop-driven P-51 Mustang...the hero who defined a certain quality that all hotshot fly-boys of the postwar era aimed to achieve: the right stuff. Now he tells his whole incredible life story with the same “wide-open, full throttle” approach that has marked his astonishing career.

Wonderful story of an amazing man
Revisado: 01-13-21
I really enjoyed the in-depth history of General Yeager’s life. I recommend anyone wanting to learn about early aviation history to listen to this book. I was very sad at the end of the book as I realized that the United States has lost a national treasure with his recent passing.

Historia
Having inspired a classic film and Broadway play, The Caine Mutiny is Herman Wouk's boldly dramatic, brilliantly entertaining novel of life—and mutiny—on a Navy warship in the Pacific theater. It was immediately embraced upon its original publication as one of the first serious works of American fiction to grapple with the moral complexities and the human consequences of the Second World War. In the intervening half century, this gripping story has become a perennial favorite, selling millions throughout the world, and claiming the Pulitzer Prize for fiction.

Historia
Gates of Fire puts you at the side of valiant Spartan warriors in 480 BC for the bloody, climactic battle at Thermopylae. There, a few hundred of Sparta’s finest sacrificed their lives to hold back the invading Persian millions. The time they bought enabled the Greeks to rally - saving, according to ancient historian Herodotus, “Western democracy and freedom from perishing in the cradle.” How did the Spartans accomplish this superhuman feat? This is what the King of Persia hopes to learn from the sole Spartan survivor.

Really enjoyed this book!
Revisado: 06-23-16
I loved the story and method it was told. I was really moved by the ending of the book. I am now interested in the actual history of these amazing warriors. It reminded me of the theme behind the Band of Brothers...you fight for the man next to you. I recommend this book to anyone who likes historical novels.
