Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

my all time favorite novel
Revisado: 02-20-21
I am solutely love this book and the narrator did it true Justice in every way shape and form. I intend to listen to it again and again as I have never found a book that seems to touch so rightly on the war between good and evil. Stephen King has a bit of the old shine himself to be able to produce a novel like this with such seeming effortlessness.

Historia
You can't kill the dead! Like any good monster, the zombie has proven to be ever-evolving, monumentally mutable, and open to seemingly endless imaginative interpretations: the thralls of voodoo sorcerers, George Romero's living dead, societal symbols, dancing thrillers, viral victims, reanimated ramblers, video-gaming targets, post-apocalyptic permutations, shuffling sidekicks, literary mash-ups, the comedic, and, yes, even the romantic.

A few good stories
Revisado: 08-11-20
Out of all the stories in this book, There were only a couple that I really liked. Some droned on and on and should have been shorter and they would have been better. I listen to books daily while I am at work and it passes the time at the farm quickly. When I have to fast forward to get through something or skip a book, it slows me down and I usually don't have to do it with too many.. Is only so much you can do with zombies lol but a lot of authors are very creative and I have enjoyed reading many of them. I would save your money and skip this one there are quite a few out there that are really excellent and this is not 1 of them.

Good when you have nothing else left to read
Revisado: 05-08-20
I go through so many books here on Audible that I sometimes run out of things to listen to before I purchase more. I had saved this book because I thought it would be really interesting and expected a lot more than what I got. The majority of the short stories were okay but nothing to write home about. some could not even be called something from Grimm's Fairy Tales at all. I think I skipped through a lot of them fast Forwarding hoping they would get better as I went along but they did not. There were none that stuck out to me I think I only truly enjoyed 1 or 2 I can't even remember to be honest. I would not recommend buying this book.

Historia
The best stories pull readers in and keep them turning the pages, eager to discover more—to find the answer to the question: "And then what happened?" The true hallmark of great literature is great imagination, and as Neil Gaiman and Al Sarrantonio prove with this outstanding collection, when it comes to great fiction, all genres are equal.

Not science fiction but highly entertaining
Revisado: 05-08-20
I liked and even loved a couple of stories in here. The stories in this collection are definitely different than what I am used to listening to. I purchased this accidentally thinking it was a Sci-Fi anthology and almost decided not to listen to it. I am really glad I took the time to listen to All of the stories because most of them where are excellent. there were two stories that actually brought tears to my eyes because they were so heart-wrenching. it is hard to classify most of them and I think the title does perfect Justice because they are stories with a little bit of horror a little bit of laughter a little bit of Science Fiction but most of them I found enthralling. I only skipped through two of them. So it was well worth the purchase.

Historia
The images, ideas, sounds, and scents that abound in this phantasmagoric sideshow are provocative and powerful: the mournful cries of celestial travelers cast out cruelly into a vast, empty space of stars and blackness; the sight of grey dust settling over a forgotten outpost on a road that leads nowhere; the pungent odor of Jupiter on a returning father's clothing. Here living cities take their vengeance, technology awakens the most primal natural instincts, Martian invasions are foiled by the good life and the glad hand, and dreams are carried aloft in junkyard rockets.

loved this book
Revisado: 03-03-20
I have always been a horror fan but once introduced to Ray Bradbury I find myself addicted to science fiction and have devoured everything I can find by Bradbury and I'm now working my way through other authors with a similar Style but for me nothing will ever compare to the Martian Chronicles. I am a short story addict and this book satisfied my craving Bradbury has a way of looking at the ordinary and making everything extraordinary and this book is one of my favorites

Historia
This collection of short stories from the master of modern fiction is available only as an audiobook. In Blood and Smoke, Stephen King takes us inside a world of yearning and paranoia, isolation and addiction. It is the world of the smoker. In this audio-only collection, the now politically incorrect habit plays a key role in the fates of three different men.

Historia
Alden McCausland and his mother are what they call “accident rich”; thanks to an unexpected life-insurance policy payout and a winning Big Maine Millions scratcher, Alden and his Ma are able to spend their summers down by Lake Abenaki, idly drinking their days away in a three-room cabin with an old dock and a lick of a beach. Across the lake, they can see what “real rich” looks like: the Massimo family’s Twelve Pines Camp, the big white mansion with guest house and tennis court that Alden’s Ma says is paid for by “ill-gotten gains” courtesy of Massimo Construction.

Recycled storyline
Revisado: 03-03-20
I felt like I had heard the story many times over the years told in different ways. Of course the Stephen King twists made it well worth reading for me anyways as I read everything he writes pretty much I've missed a couple to be honest but I'm getting there. If you're driving and need to pass time this is a good story to use its entertaining and not too long but it definitely is not a horror story if that is what you are looking for

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Revisado: 03-03-20
I had this book in paperback forever. I could never seem to get past the first chapter or so however getting it as an audiobook was a dream come true this was a fantastic story I enjoyed immensely. some may be turned off by the description of the aliens but I thought King nailed it I absolutely loved it from beginning to end
