Historia
Apparently, time-travel spells have a sense of humor and don’t take direction well. Mei Li could’ve done with knowing that beforehand and fully blames Shunlei for not forewarning her. Instead of going back a few years to rescue the missing tomes, Mei Li finds herself thousands of years in the past, with the original events she needs to learn about still 10 years into the future. She is stuck in a hurry-up-and-wait pattern she doesn’t appreciate.

Henri is quite accustomed to dangerous and unusual cases landing in his lap. Being partnered to the Shinigami Detective likely has something to do with it. What he is not accustomed to is the queen herself marching into his lab and handing them such a case.

Another Delightful Tale
Revisado: 06-24-22
As always Honor Raconteur creates such amazing characters. They are unique, Whitt and charismatic. The byplay between the two main characters who obviously don’t realize their own chemistry is what makes this such a delightful tale. Also the narration is a spot on.

Differing Narrators and Pronunciations is annoying
Revisado: 03-13-22
I love Danita K Paul's writing. I wish that if it's absolutely necessary to switch narrators then they would at least ask that the pronunciation of names was normalized. It interrupts the listening experience to the point you almost don't want to listen. It is as if a familiar friend has jarringly changed and takes quite a lot if adjusting to get to know again.

excellent rejoinder
Revisado: 09-13-20
I've been waiting for this sequel to be in audiobook form for quite sometime. it was worth the wait.
my only disappointment was that the narrator wasn't the same as the first two books. However, she did an excellent job and the disappointment faded quickly.

I loved this story
it was moving and very poignant
I was a little astonished by the slightly overdone romance scenes. No sex scenes but the arousal is intense.

Great Epic Fantasy
Revisado: 03-23-18
I really liked this book it was engaging and well written. It's nice to have a complete story in one novel.
The narrator's voice and pace were excellent, my only issue had to do with pronunciation. This may or may not have been the narrator's fault. I think that a British accent would have fit the language of this book better and then the pronunciation of certain names and words would not have grated ever so slightly on my nerves throughout the book.
I love it when an epic fantasy has just enough noble romance without it taking over the book. Also there is only a bit of rough language. Just enough to make the characters real without making the story unreadable.

great overall storyline
Revisado: 03-05-18
This story is captivating. For the first time in several months, I couldn't sleep because I had to keep listening. This is saying something as I listen to a new audible title 2-3 times a month.
My only problem with this book is how completely naive and hopeless the Hero is when it comes to communication and relationships. I know people really can be this way, but it starts to get annoying. Especially when the Author has foreshadowed an obvious answer and you literally want to yell out loud at the Character to connect the dots. As you can tell I really like the character development and am lovingly exasperated at the Hero's inability to cope with certain situations. I like him so much I want to help him through the quagmire of problems he faces. I can't wait to read the next book.
