Historia
From white trash mill village girl to Senior Cinderella. In Alabama Blue, Toni K. Pacini shares her tumultuous journey. A girl raised up like an invasive weed in an Alabama cotton mill village where illiteracy, bigotry, religious fanaticism, and abuse were as commonplace as fried chicken on Sunday. From pillar to post, and coast to coast, she sought a dauntingly illusive refuge.

I hated every minute of this but because we are the same age and lived in the same place, I had to get through it. she reminds me of blanch in streetcar named desire. she isn't a victim of the horrible things that happened to her but rather the choices she made. I'm glad she found happiness. but all I could think of was that she found a perfect victim and I worried for him. I knew several girls in her circumstances who rose above it made a better life. there were resources available to her and good people to help in my town. I hate that she didn't choose a better path. I knew someone who knew her mother. she said that she did the best she could but her children we very much loved. I am glad she found some happiness and hope that she is still happy at this writing.

Historia
Only a handful of fictional characters are recognized by first name alone. Now Koontz follows Odd as he is drawn onward, to a destiny he cannot imagine. Haunted by dreams of an all-encompassing red tide, Odd is pulled inexorably to the sea, to a small California coastal town where nothing is as it seems.

Historia
Every so often a character so captures the hearts and imaginations of listeners that he seems to take on a life of his own long after the final chapter. For such a character, one book is not enough—listeners must know what happens next. Now Dean Koontz returns with the novel his fans have been demanding. With the emotional power and sheer storytelling artistry that are his trademarks, Koontz takes up once more the story of a unique young hero and an eccentric little town in a tale that is equal parts suspense and terror, adventure and mystery—and altogether irresistibly odd.

Historia
Jane’s days at a Midwest insurance company are perfectly ordinary. She blends in well, unremarkably pretty in her floral-print dresses and extra efficient at her low-level job. She’s just the kind of woman middle manager Steven Hepsworth likes - meek, insecure, and willing to defer to a man. No one has any idea who Jane really is. Least of all Steven. But plain Jane is hiding something. And Steven’s bringing out the worst in her.

Something must be seriously wrong with this author. Who thinks this way? I didn't see the character, I saw the author living through this character and working out her own issues. Free or not, never again.

I don't generally follow a particular author, but I'm following her.
Revisado: 10-13-18
Southern women are a particular breed of woman and it takes one to know one. I feel like she writes for me, women I've known, and places I'm comfortable in. I'm a nurse and generally don't have a lot of down time, so audio books work best for me. No one but kat e orsini could narate her characters. Fake southern accents just piss me off because the way we speak is a gift. I have every girlfriend I have reading her and if they don't, they are out of the club! And just so y'all know, this book scared the crap out of me cause I imagine 50,000 more men just like Heath in all those buckhead bars I so dearly loved.

Finally a book meant just for me and the rest of the Alabama girls.
Revisado: 10-05-18
The narration was excellent. You can't fake our dialect. You have to be born with it. Moreover, the main character was strong even in her weakness. I was struck by how each generation of women evolved. If you got the message that insanity wasn't in the blood, then read it again. Margaret Mitchell would have loved this character.

I really had to struggle through this. The story line just was not credible. I found the fiction boring. It would have been better if there was more action and drama, less soap.
