Historia
Things I’ll Never Forget is the story of a young high school graduate in 1965 who faces being drafted into the Army or volunteering for the Marine Corps. These are his memories of funny times, disgusting times and deadly times. The author kept a journal for an entire year; therefore many of the dates, times and places are accurate. The rest is based on memories that are forever tattooed on his brain. This is not a pro-war book, nor is it anti-war. It is the true story of what the Marine Corps was like in the late 1960’s.

I liked the format and the individual stories of each of the folks that fought alongside each other. I like the fact that in the end, there was no holding back about the fact that it’s not over till it’s over the stories at the end were very sad, but Mr. Dickson‘s commentary Was truthful and I have nothing but respect for him and his comrades both alive and who have passed on.

In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

Truth and its price now and for the future
Revisado: 06-02-24
I was especially impressed with the how a huge body of information was synthesized into an organized flow allowing anyone reading listening to absorb and process it in a way to get a concise and comprehensive picture.
My hat is off to the entire Jan 6 committee for the way you conducted yourselves and showing us all how folks from across the aisle can get things accomplished when it is about the people of this country.
Heed the warning at the end of the people. Mr. Trump is now a convicted felon. This and countless other acts and behavior speak to the President’s lack of character. What he didn’t’ do from the election to when President Biden was sworn in should give us an accurate and truthful portrayal of where his agenda will be focused.
Beware and heed the evidence and vote for the Country and not a man on his own journey. Blessings to all!
I love these Americans who stood up for us and the Country!
Thank you Liz for writing this book and for all of your energy and fortitude and that of your colleagues on this committee.

This book was the ultimate example of duty, honor, and country. Leader ship at its best under the most trying circumstances but leader ship that fulfilled the mission, and made things happen that were miraculous in nature. It’s Time
Revisado: 10-01-20
In this day and time were polarization, chaos, and adversarialism abound we can take the words of Dr. Martin Luther King and realize that the work is not done but there is more work to be done. There’s so many opportunities still that are bound in the present sense of time that need to be addressed need to be looked at from all perspectives black white Hispanic Asian. I pray that people will take and read this book because it has opened up this white man’s eyes heart mind body and soul in a way that it has not been touched in a long time. We need to come together but we need to understand and we need to walk with each other and we need to act with each other and we need to be concerned me and be each others brother to overcome. Lord I thank you so much for all of the people who before us made the sacrifices many of which sacrifice their own lives. But I think you most of all for bringing this man Dr. Martin Luther King into our lives and understanding that the radical king is not the enemy it is the opportunity that we all have to close ranks and to really truly learn how to love. Blessings to all

Family, Life, Love and God
Revisado: 09-06-17
This was such a refreshing listen. It's one story of many stories played out about ones beginnings and influences that we later bring into our lives and end up weaving into the marriage and family that we have a chance to make. There are ups and downs just like life but the message is still simple--find something you really like to do, pour your heart into it til it hurts, and never give up. God is with you all the way!!!
Thank you Chip and Joanna for sharing your piece of life, the lessons you've learned and your faith.

Autumn 1944. World War II is nearly over in Europe but is escalating in the Pacific, where American soldiers face an opponent who will go to any length to avoid defeat. The Japanese army follows the samurai code of Bushido, stipulating that surrender is a form of dishonor. Killing the Rising Sun takes listeners to the bloody tropical-island battlefields of Peleliu and Iwo Jima and to the embattled Philippines, where General Douglas MacArthur has made a triumphant return and is plotting a full-scale invasion of Japan.

The Zeitgeist of the time
Revisado: 10-10-16
Both authors did a masterful job of research in assimilating the details and the spirit of the times. Understanding the dynamics and the culture on both sides of the war guides the reader to experience the fullness of how history played out. The lessons learned both in war and especially after the war show the resilience and examples of how mortal enemies can come back and thru common sense and goodness help to not only rebuild a country but more importantly a ally and friend.
Kudos to Dugard and O'Reilly. Superb work!!!

Wow!!!
Revisado: 09-17-15
This book was excellently written and I was completely riveted from beginning to end. You there were numerous nuggets of information that were brought to the surface that I never had any idea of which made the story all the more exhilarating to listen to. It was equally interesting to see how each of these gentlemen crossed each other's pass through out the entirety of their lives and knew each other personally. To be honest when the book ended I was quite sad as I wanted to hear more. A must read not only for those who are interested in aviation but also for those who want to understand what true heroes are about.

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

A must read; duty, honor and and love do coexist
Revisado: 08-23-15
This book is so reminiscent of the good qualities that human beings can have even in the midst of war.
The influence both in the present time of the World War two conflict but especially years later when all the parties from both the Americans as well as Franz the German ace really put in perspective the impact of one human being on many people when he or she makes the right choice. My hats off to the author and The narrator who put life into this awesome story. I must admit I too shared some tears relating to the love and compassionate shown. One of the best books I've listened to in several years.
