Historia
It is a perfect July morning, and Elle, a 50-year-old happily married mother of three, awakens at “The Paper Palace” - the family summer place she has visited every summer of her life. But this morning is different: Last night, Elle and her oldest friend, Jonas, crept out the back door into the darkness and had sex with each other for the first time, all while their spouses chatted away inside. Now, Elle will have to decide between the life she has made with her genuinely beloved husband and the life she always imagined she would have had with her childhood love.

Painful
Revisado: 01-08-25
I am a fan of Kristen Ashley, but this series was painful 😒 to listen.
There were too many characters, I couldn't keep upbwith them. I listened to the whole thing because I had already paid for it, but this book, the very last one took me over a month to finish it.
I hate to do this, I just don't want you to spend your money and credits in this boring book!

new version disappointing 😞

I listened to a different much better version about 10 years ago. This narrator sounds like a child. It even made me not like the book anymore!

I love a good mistery...
Revisado: 11-28-22
And I'm pretty sure this book could be a good one, but the narrator also influences and encourages me to keep listening, unfortunately this narrator didn't do it for me! I think I forced myself to listen for a couple of hrs and then I stopped. I'd been an audible listener since 2014 and this is 2nd time I remove a book w/o finishing it.

Historia
New York, 1960: For Benny Lament, music is his entire life. With his father’s deep ties to the mob, the Bronx piano man has learned that love and family can get you in trouble. So he keeps to himself, writing songs for other musicians, avoiding the spotlight…until the night his father brings him to see Esther Mine sing. Esther is a petite powerhouse with a gorgeous voice. And when Benny writes a hit song and performs it with her, their collaboration thrusts the duo onto the national stage…and stirs up old issues and new scrutiny that the mob--and Benny--would rather avoid.

I love ❤ the way she writes. There's always compassion in her books, but there's also hard truths about the world we live in. Never change the way you write, it is what makes you Amy Harmon.

Historia
From the day that old Nana Reja found a baby abandoned under a bridge, the life of a small Mexican town forever changed. Disfigured and covered in a blanket of bees, little Simonopio is for some locals the stuff of superstition, a child kissed by the devil. But he is welcomed by landowners Francisco and Beatriz Morales, who adopt him and care for him. As he grows up, Simonopio becomes a cause for wonder to the Morales family, because when the uncannily gifted child closes his eyes, he can see what no one else can - visions of all that’s yet to come, both beautiful and dangerous.

It reminds me of Garcia Marquez's books 📚 with his magic realism! I am in love 😍 with this book, it made me laugh and cry. Exceptional writing! I've wished I'd listened to Spanish version first, but no matter, the translation was excellent. Both narrators were great too! 👍🏼👌👏😀😄😊

Emotional
Revisado: 12-30-19
The last five chapters were revealing and I was very emotional, I couldn't stop crying. I love all the books that make me react with different feelings and emotions when they are well written, and have good narrators like this one does.
I rarely write reviews for all the audiobooks I have listened to, but this one touch me like very few books have and deserves all the best reviews.

Historia
You might not know me. I’m the baby of the Rawlings family, the princess, the daughter who came along later. I’m not like my older siblings, successful at everything they touch. My mother and father have provided me with every luxury as well as their unyielding love and support, but I’m not spoiled. I’m also not content. By example, my parents have shown me how love should be. I don’t know their past, and that doesn’t matter. I know what I’ve seen—two people devoted to one another.

3 Stars per Story Originality
Revisado: 01-17-19
It's similar to Claire's story, that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. But there's so many scenarios in my mind and the cliffhanger I was left with that I'm willing to give it a chance. It's just that Aleatha Romig manipulated the Consequences series so finely, that I find this book lacking originality. I want to know more, and sooner would be ideal.
In my humble opinion, the Consequences series need to be read before starting this book, otherwise you will have so many blanks.
