Revisado: 09-12-22
His first book was much better. This took 6 hours to get to the main story. Ray porter does an outstanding job and is becoming one of my favorite narrators.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Outstanding performance.
Revisado: 07-23-22
This is the first book I’ve heard from Ray Porter. He’s outstanding. He is just shy of RC Bray, in my estimation.
The story itself is gripping. And I love science fiction, but I’m getting tired of people selling fiction as science. Like time dilation. It gets old fast. The average person probably won’t care, but it’ll probably irritate any real scientist.
Maybe real science is truly dead.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Outstanding story and well performed
Revisado: 07-01-22
I have a high standard for audiobook narration, and Rosario Dawson absolutely nailed it. Her accents were outstanding. Occasionally, it’s hard to follow conversations, as both parties sounded the same, but not too bad. One of the first 5 star performance reviews I’ve given in a while.
The story was good. More profanity than there needed to be, but oh well.

Historia
In Dead in the Water, Stone has hardly arrived in St. Marks, a lovely Caribbean island nation, on a sailing vacation when something very strange happens: A beautiful young woman sails into the harbor, entirely alone on a large yacht. Before long she is under the intense scrutiny of the local authorities, in the very considerable person of Sir Winston Sutherland, the minister of justice.

Good story. Just ok performance
Revisado: 06-10-22
The narrator does a decent job, but he keeps changing accents in the middle of a conversation. I’m guessing he keeps taking breaks in the middle, and then when he picks it back up, he uses different accents. Makes it difficult to know who’s talking sometimes.

Historia
The woman’s body was found in the early morning, on a bench in a New York City playground. She was clean, her hair neatly arranged, her makeup carefully applied. But other things were very wrong—like the tattoo and piercings, clearly new. The clothes, decades out of date. The fatal wound hidden beneath a ribbon around her neck. And the note: Bad Mommy, written in crayon as if by a child.

Good story, but…
Revisado: 03-25-22
Excellent murder plot…. Just not enough of the character development that I look forward to. There are dozens of authors that can write a good murder book, but no one writes characters like Nora Roberts. That’s one of the things I look forward to in each book.

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet.

Used to be 5 stars
Revisado: 02-07-22
Look, I love Wil Wheaton. You love Wil Wheaton. Nobody has ever said that they didn’t love Wil Wheaton. He just isn’t that great at reading audiobooks. Everyone said he did an amazing job with “Ready Player One”, and maybe he did, but I don’t see it. His narration is decent, but all his dialogue sounds the exact same. All the voices sound like…. Wil Wheaton. That’s not the end of the world, but someone who doesn’t know the story might get lost in longer conversations. To be fair, he did try to give a reporter a British accent. That made me laugh. And he also gave the German crew member a German accent.
It gets much worse if you’ve heard RC Bray’s version. He left a pair of shoes that would take a full award-winning cast to fill. It’s basically the equivalent of watching Richard Burton’s portrayal of Hamlet and then watching your third grader play Hamlet on stage of the school gym. You’ll always love your kid…. but it will never be the same.

Not one of Grisham’s best
Revisado: 01-22-22
There was very little intrigue, almost no danger, no suspense, and very little that was interesting. He had 2-3 chances to throw in some twists and turns, and he chose not to. Basically, it was just ok. If it didn’t have John Grisham’s name on it, I would have stopped listening half way through.
