Never has the audible version been so important
Revisado: 05-22-23
By reading this autobiography, the author brings you along with him to recount his experience as a person who stutters. This allows the listener to understand what life is like for him as he struggles to get through a phone call or order at a restaurant. This perspective is such a key part of this story.

This gritty novel exposes the underbelly of criminal minds
Revisado: 01-18-23
Joy Castro paints the city of New Orleans in all its senses: taste the Cuban and Creole spices, smell the stench of the stale booze, feel the fear of dark alleys, see the architecture of the churches and the Quarter, and her the story of Nola. At times the characters are too evil but this story builds and pulls you to keep listening and cheering for Nola to tell it.

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Mesmerizing depiction of how this crew became legends
Revisado: 11-14-17
While this is certainly a book documenting the course of events that led to an Olympic victory, there is so much more. It paints the scene of life in Washington during the early 20th century. I loved every word.
