Fresh, new, necessary perspective!
Revisado: 12-19-21
This is a very illuminating perspective presented in a clear way with strong attempts at impartiality. The narration is as clear as the writing. The book is easy to listen to, leaving one to concentrate on the subject matter. Reporting one on one encounters continent wide lends much authenticity and allows the unveiling of surprising new perspectives from both the Chinese and the Africans. Stereotypes and prejudices are thus more easily uncovered if not challenged.

Historia
Throughout his distinguished and unconventional career, engineer-turned-molecular-biologist Douglas Axe has been asking the questions that much of the scientific community would rather silence. Now, he presents his conclusions in this brave and pioneering book. Axe argues that the key to understanding our origin is the "design intuition" - the innate belief held by all humans that tasks we would need knowledge to accomplish can be accomplished only by someone who has that knowledge.

Excellently Done!!!
Revisado: 02-18-19
Excellent addition to my arsenal of material for supporting true "common sense" and refuting the "group think" nonsense that the establishment is pushing.
Very thorough coverage of difficult material made accessible by Mr. Axe's catering to the educated layman's technical limitations. I love the "feet on the ground" concluding thoughts heralding especially the young to boldly go forth to expose and further elucidate the thrilling technological wonders embedded in all of creation.
The narration was quite clear.
Thank you Mr. Axe, for this wonderful work. It deserves many listens, which it has already been getting from me!

Historia
The American Slave Coast tells the horrific story of how the slavery business in the United States made the reproductive labor of "breeding women" essential to the expansion of the nation. The book shows how slaves' children, and their children's children, were human savings accounts that were the basis of money and credit. This was so deeply embedded in the economy of the slave states that it could be decommissioned only by emancipation, achieved through the bloodiest war in the history of the United States.

Excellent History of the USA
Revisado: 11-03-18
Made very comfortable listening since the writing is excellent, though the narration could have been more helpful.
I recommend this book highly to anyone who wants a very balanced, thorough, and easy to read version of American history from an economic perspective that centers on the African slave as the currency that forms the basis of American capitalism.

Historia
The search to find medicines is as old as disease, which is to say as old as the human race. Through serendipity - by chewing, brewing, and snorting - some Neolithic souls discovered opium, alcohol, snakeroot, juniper, frankincense, and other helpful substances. Ötzi the Iceman, the 5,000-year-old hunter frozen in the Italian Alps, was found to have whipworms in his intestines and Bronze Age medicine, a worm-killing birch fungus, knotted to his leggings.

This wonderful, fact-filled and research-based historical survey was written and performed so well that it read more like a very good detective novel than the medical history book that it is. My thanks to the writers and the performer!

Historia
"We were eight years in power" was the lament of Reconstruction-era Black politicians as the American experiment in multiracial democracy ended with the return of white supremacist rule in the South. Now Ta-Nehisi Coates explores the tragic echoes of that history in our own time: the unprecedented election of a Black president followed by a vicious backlash that fueled the election of the man Coates argues is America's "first White president".

Required reading for all "Western" human beings
Revisado: 10-29-17
Thanks to Mr. Coates, I am now able tp perceive the whole tree of the American economic system, from its 15th or 16th roots to its present day leaves in which all but a very few are lost. Perhaps now there can be some hope that human good will win over human evil.

Historia
On account of the superficial points of agreement between Islam and Christianity, many don't see how tremendously deep the divides between them really are, and fewer still have considered the evidence for each faith. How is jihad different from the Crusades? Can we know the life of Jesus as well as the life of Muhammad? What reason is there to believe in one faith over the other, and what difference can the Gospel really make?

Historia
In 1962, boxing writers and fans considered Cassius Clay an obnoxious self-promoter, and few believed that he would become the heavyweight champion of the world. But Malcolm X, the most famous minister in the Nation of Islam - a sect many white Americans deemed a hate cult - saw the potential in Clay, not just for boxing greatness but as a means of spreading the Nation's message. The two became fast friends, keeping their interactions secret from the press for fear of jeopardizing Clay's career.

This work gives wonderful insight into the lives of Mohammed and Malcolm. It gives unique and strategic insight into how and why Mohamed Ali formed the bridge between the Christian, Black Muslim, and Muslim worlds. Well written, very well narrated, thoroughly researched, impartial and respectful presentation. Very many thanks.

Historia
In Prince of Darkness, a groundbreaking and vivid account, eminent historian Shane White reveals the larger-than-life story of a man who defied every convention of his time. He wheeled and dealed in the lily-white business world, he married a White woman, he bought a mansion in rural New Jersey, he owned railroad stock on trains he was not legally allowed to ride, and generally he set his White contemporaries' teeth on edge when he wasn't just plain outsmarting them.
