Historia
After an exchange student with bubonic plague turns up in a Reno hospital, a contractor with identical symptoms dies in Los Angeles. The government‘s official stance is that the cases are isolated and the outbreak is under control. But George Mack, a 30-year public health veteran, quickly realizes this is no ordinary plague. The death toll is too high, and the spread pattern make no sense. As Reno’s hospitals fill with victims, Mack begins to believe that there is more to the epidemic than the CDC is letting on - and that he must take drastic steps if he hopes to save his city.

Wow well done!
Revisado: 03-19-22
I was pleasantly surprised. This was a very good story well thought out without a lot of pointless filler. Yet some how character development was done so that you really felt empathy for this large cast of characters. My one criticism would be the transition between the different story Arch's was a lytl hard to follow and I sometimes felt lost. if this is Scheuring's first book I was truly impressed and will be on the lookout for more.

Historia
ver been to a big college town on a football Saturday night? Loud drunks glut the streets, swaggering about in roaring packs, laughing and leering like sailors on shore leave. These nights crackle with a dark energy born of incongruity; for beneath all that smiling and singing sprawls a bedrock of malice. Erupting from this mean soil is Brew, a novel of survival horror that unfolds in a single, apocalyptic night, when hard-partying College Heights swaps beer pong and karaoke for arson, rape, murder, and cannibalism.

Historia
Jeremy Bishop's first pulse-pounding novel is a horrific tale of post-apocalyptic terror that is one part zombie story and one part Dante's Inferno. The story asks hard questions and generates strong emotions in everyone who reads it--anger, excitement, and most of all: FEAR. This book asks the question that everyone is afraid to answer: Are you ready? Enter the mind of Jeremy Bishop if you dare. Share his nightmares. Experience the fear that shaped his life. You may never be the same.

Not my style I couldn't finish it.
Revisado: 01-12-21
This isn't what I consider to be Sci Fi its more religious fiction. It's all in the description "one part zombie story and one part Dante's Inferno". some may like it but not me.

Historia
My name is Frank Moon, and I used to be a detective with the NYPD. I say "used to" because ever since the demon, Abaddon, came for a visit, nothing's been the same. Almost immediately after "Abaddon" arrived something horrifying happened. People started changing, turning into the things of nightmares right before my eyes. Some were my friends. Some neighbors. Some were just people passing through. Either way, they didn't deserve that fate. No one did.

Historia
It started in the Middle East. A flu-like plague that infected thousands and killed roughly 10 percent of its victims. Those who died awoke once again, but they were no longer among the living - they came back as soulless, carnivorous corpses who desired only one thing: to feed on living human flesh. The citizens of Single Tree, California, want the stenches and those fleeing them to ignore the town long enough for it to be transformed.... But time is not on their side.

If you voted for Trump
Revisado: 04-02-18
You'll probably like this if you like Trump. I really wanted to like this book. I read the first couple shorts and thought it had an OK premise and I've enjoyed some of Stephen Knight's other stuff, but it finally wore me down.
The subplot about how if it weren't for the truly compassionate conservatives all liberals would die a horrible death was so heavy handed. I like to think I'm in the middle of the spectrum politically, holy crap I couldn't take it anymore and had to stop.
Also the narration is horrible, it sounds like it was recorded with an old cassette recorder (constant hissing). Really bad audio effects.

Historia
Once thought to be pure academic legend, scientists recently found proof of the existence of viruses thousands of times larger than ordinary viruses. So far all have been innocuous, but what if one was a human pathogen? While drilling for oil in the desolate reaches of the Arctic, an unsuspecting company extracts a permafrost ice core that has been frozen for 30,000 years, accidentally releasing a "megavirus".

Historia
What started as a flu outbreak on a military base proves deadlier than Ebola. Sympatico Syndrome is unlike anything the world has ever seen. Victims' behavior is changing to accommodate the rapid spread of the virus. Former Navy epidemiologist Cole Evans is well aware of the rare, infectious diseases the military studies. He also knows the government's stance on sharing information with the public, so if the media has already learned about the disease, then it's too late to contain the outbreak.
