A great literary work, no doubt. However, I felt the author gave no real arguments to support their clear bias against the Puritans. It is not at all a fair representation or plausible story.
I am myself a student of the Puritans, regarding such works as "The doctor of repentance", "A godly man's picture", and "Precious remedies against Satan's vices".
Nowhere does the author recognize the gospel principles of repentance, forgiveness, and Christian joy.
The author really doesn't even disguise their bias and distain for the Puritans, or try to address real puritan beliefs.

Shush a great storyline. Really original, unpredictable and meaningful!
And such a great performance by Roy Worley!
The beginning is a little slow with a lot of history/narration.

Yeonmi’s story is incredibly moving. I was unaware of how bad things were in North Korea and China. I hope more people will hear this story and be moved to prioritize The God given human rights of our neighbors around the world, And hopefully see the devastating godless worldview that brings and produces these atrocities and humanity

I'm a Christian, in the Bible teaches a philosophy for life. Sacrifice today to benefit in the future! For example, work hard today then enjoy the fruits of your labor! Or live your life in-service to God and others and then enjoy heavenly rewards for your selfless life!
The philosophy presented in this book is secular, The opposite of the biblical perspective. He argues that you're going to be more wealthy when you're older so why not spread that wealth throughout your years by going into debt when you're younger and paying it off when you're older! Live for the now! As a Christian I believe our problem is that we always live for the now and never for the future!
