I found this one hard to put down. The joy of listening to the mysterious relationship Sierra and Carmel share unfold was hard to put down. I just had to know more. The snowy setting makes for a cozy story as well. Hope we get more from this series in the future.

Sixteen years ago, when I first entered the furry fandom, much like Kory, I was on my journey of self-discovery about my queerness. A friend let me borrow Waterways, and from the first chapter, it struck a chord so deep within me that it was like Kyell Gold was ripping my feelings and experiences right out of my brain and slapping them onto the page. I struggled throughout my whole life trying to find out who I was, and this book represents those struggles nearly flawlessly.

Waterways is an inside look into how many queer people process feelings and experiences in a world that often tells them they are wrong. Straight readers will experience what it is like to have to question every romantic feeling you have, overanalyzing what people will think of you if you act on them. Queer readers get to read wonderful stories with interesting and loveable characters whom they can relate to.

I had avoided resisting this story as an audiobook because, for some reason, I was put off by the narrator in the sample clip provided. For anyone feeling the same worries, don't. Robert M. Clark does a wonderful job bringing these characters to life, especially with the two main characters Kory and Samaki.

Like any Anthology, some stories grabbed me a bit more than others, but none of them remotely ever made me want to stop listening. I am constantly impressed by what can be squeezed into short stories. They are long enough to make you feel invested in the characters, then leave you wanting more right as it ends.

The longer novela's are perfectly sandwiched in between some shorter stories, which really made the book flow.

As with the other books in Hayven Celestia, I am constantly impressed with Piers Ryman's narration. He even pulled out some voices I haven't heard in other books that had me thinking, "wait, is that still him?"

If you like sci-fi, furry or not, pick this up, you will not regret it.

Conclusions are hard. How do you tie up so many plot lines while still exploring new topics? This book right here is how you do it.

Luterman takes what he built in Small world and expertly weaves a long narrative about what you would do to get back to the one you love. Stealing, lying, murder? The story never has time to settle and get stale, instead, it goes in directions frequently. Many I wasn't expecting. Each time the setting changed had me hooked, wondering what would happen next. I enjoyed the sense of adventure this story brought to the series and the interesting social it topics explored.

Prepare yourself for an emotional, wild ride.

I don't know how you could listen to the other two books and not be in love with Piers Ryman's narration. This book is no different.

This is not what I was expecting with a sequel to the first book, but that is in no way a bad thing.

Once again the idea of small unsuspecting characters being explored in a big story is present. How many books have you read about an alien cleaning crew? Was a first for me but I am glad I did.

Small world is a frontier story in a sense. The characters are taken to a strange new environment where they have to learn to survive its harsh environment all while trying to build a new society. Just like the first book you will fall in love with the characters, laugh with them, cry with them, and fear for them during the hard parts.

Once again Piers Ryman does a stellar job with the narration. He reads the characters with conviction and brings each and every one of them to life.

After finishing the first two books in the Heavenly Celestra series I was hungry for more. I wasn't sure what to expect with this book since it is a side series written by a different author, but I can confidently say it up there with the quality of writing and storytelling of Traitors, Thieves and Liars, and The Captain's Oath. Luterman is able to weave together an exciting story with heartfelt characters you will be rooting for.

With this book, we get to see what is it like to be a geroo on the White Flower II. Even though Kanti might not be a high-ranking officer, it doesn't mean the adventures and predicaments he gets himself into are any less interesting. It's nice to have stories about the "smaller" characters in these big worlds but still have them be just as entertaining, heartfelt, and impactful.

I am really impressed with the narrator's performance. Piers Ryman is insanely good for this series. I have listened to probably 100-150 audiobooks, and a good narrator is so important. Ryman does a stellar job with the Hayven Celestia.

At its heart, Green Fairy is a coming of age story. It tells the story of Sol trying to figure out who he is and how he can get the world around him to accept. Kyell Gold often tells stories that cover a topic of personal struggle for the LGBT community and this story is no different. The characters in The green fairy, just feel real. The themes in the book are often heavy, and something most gay people can relate too in some way. Even if you are not gay, this story offers a small look into what is like to be afraid to just be your self.

I flew through this audiobook, I found myself listening to it every chance I could get. As soon as an I finished it I picked up the two sequels right away. The narrator, Jay Maxwell, did a wonderful job as well. I am pretty picky when it comes to narration, it's usually the number 1 reason I return a book, but Maxwell really does a wonderful job. All of the characters have a distinct voice and he brings their personalities alive.

If you have an extra credit, spend it on this book for sure.
