Historia
For almost a hundred years, Hadrian Marlowe has served the empire in its war against the Cielcin, a vicious alien race bent on humanity's destruction. Rumors of a new king among the Cielcin have reached the imperial throne. This one is not like the others. It does not raid borderworld territories, preferring precise, strategic attacks on the humans' empire.

Lazy writing last one of these for me
Revisado: 12-07-24
It was a good enough story with a lot of slow spots with too much expose and derivative expansion of story lines. Spoiler spoiler don’t read . But the point where he starts the main character spouting off about how he hates the young prince and then the young prince is standing behind him is like a lazy story line from a cheesy sitcom, I literally lost interest at that exact moment in this series. The narrator is the only reason to listen to this series and now the story has jumped the shark for me. Next series.

Historia
The galaxy remembers Hadrian Marlowe as a hero: the man who burned every last alien Cielcin from the sky. They remember him as a monster: the devil who destroyed a sun, casually annihilating four billion human lives - even the emperor himself - against Imperial orders. But Hadrian was not a hero. He was not a monster. He was not even a soldier. Fleeing his father and a future as a torturer, Hadrian finds himself stranded on a strange, backwater world.

Good but so whiney
Revisado: 11-18-24
The story is good but had some very slow points.overall I enjoyed it. I will say the main character is such a whiny character. I wish he was just a little less annoying and this would have been much more enjoyable.

Historia
In the first book of this brilliant series, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most powerful creations: Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland tracks The Man in Black, encounters an enticing woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the boy from New York named Jake.

Historia
One moment I'm a heretical priest in the twelfth century, hunted, hated...The next, I'm waking up in the nearest corpse. Stuck in a cycle of instant reincarnation, popping back up like a tarnished penny. Fast forward eight hundred years, and you might think I've learned a thing or two. Nope. All I've learned is how to die far too easily, far too often. Now my territory in the South of France is under threat and I find myself trapped by impossible angel-made runes. If the angels have gone full red lightsaber evil, it might not only be my territory in danger, but the whole of reality itself...

Story is good could use a narrator
Revisado: 04-11-24
I like the books. They have a lot of good elements and I think the characters are fun to follow. I know the writer is the narrator…. Maybe if I was English I could follow him better but I’m not so I find his pacing and pronunciation hard to follow at times. The story keeps me in it and I’m about 12 hours in so far so I’m sure I’ll keep going. So I would recommend the story for sure but i struggle with the choice to self narrate.

Gave it a shot for an included title
Revisado: 06-08-23
It’s an Ok book the narrator is god level so it keeps you interested if only to listen to him. The story really goes no where for a short 10 -12 hour book. I know development and such but this book should have been double the length for an intro to a series. It seem cash grabby to me. The next 2 books are in the same length range at regular price. I will pass unless I see it on a sale or 2 for 1 deal and that’s mostly because the narrator is so good. Jason whines “man I hate when life is good and easy” spoiler alert!!!!
bro if you couldn’t use you legs for 2 years and you can get into a VR game and have things go great for you… you would not be complaining about it. Awe man I’m surrounded by beautiful people wah! I know he’s the writing is trying to say Jason is humble and doesn’t want handouts but be real VR is escapism even the most immersive VR should not feel like a total grind. Done with rant !
Get the book it’s not bad for a first but too short and needs more content for a first in series book.

Why why do I love these books !!!
Revisado: 03-24-23
I can not explain it but these are some of my favorite listens in all of audibles library. The story keeps me interested and narrator could read the back of a detergent bottle and I’d listen. I’m 50 and play games and love this build up and grind then fight and farm material it is so fun to monitor their growth. It’s like watching reality TV for RPGs , I will listen to these as long as he puts them out I’m hoping for a remap of powers in a future book I love Collin but would love another familiar.
Keep writing em I’ll keep knocking em down

Historia
A thousand years have passed since a dragon has been seen in the world. Science and technology have replaced magic, which has dwindled until it has become little more than an element of myth and legend. There are those who still have dragon blood flowing through their veins, distant descendants of the mighty creatures of old. These rare humans have the power to cast magic, the power to heal, and the power to craft alchemical weapons capable of starting wars...or ending them.

I usually love this Lindsay but the story and narration were rough
Revisado: 03-20-23
The story has some good moments , but the love scenes are just way to over the top for me. And the narration sounded very monotone for all but a few moments. I think the narrator has ability but maybe just didn’t like the story or was miss reading the pace of it. It won’t tarnish my love of Lindsay but it is one I won’t revisit.

Revisado: 07-05-22
I usually don’t get into short stories I want my moneys worth on books. I love these stories but these 2 could have easily been added to the next 2 to make a decent value and the story is just a continuation anyway. Seems like a lazy money grab. If it wasn’t for Luke I’d be out but his voice and story telling keep me want to listen more .. you sneaky $&@“& you got me

I think I could have skipped this one
Revisado: 06-30-22
To not really spoil anything … I found this story superfluous. I was so engaged on the first book I couldn’t find that same engagement on this one . No character is really engaging. Tal the arguable lead is the only bright spot. I will read the next to hopefully close some loops but that’s only because I’m a completionist.

Legion Dark Ops calls upon Chhun, Wraith, and the survivors of Victory Company to form an elite Kill Team of legionnaires in the aftermath of the Battle of Kublar. Their mission is clear: find and eliminate those responsible for the Kublar disaster. Standing between them and their objective are a maze of corrupt Republic officials, a spy on the verge of losing himself in deep cover, and the Zhee - a murderous species that will stop at nothing. But the biggest threat of all might be the truth they seek to uncover - a truth that could ignite a revolution. And engulf the galaxy in flames.

Book 1 great book 2 Garbage
Revisado: 06-01-22
The 1st book in this 2 book combo was awesome loved everything about it. The 2nd was just awful. If it wasn’t for Bray I would have just stopped listening but he could narrate painting and I’d listen. The 2nd book had almost no character development. I had no interest in any of the story lines and man did I try. The one or two characters you want to follow had little or no story flow. What happened this whole series and universe is all about the characters this was about battles and nothing more. I don’t know where you can go from here but unless it’s a freebie I probably won’t risk it.
