Historia
The Resonance Effect is both the author's story of her inspirational journey of having the courage to find her true calling and an account of the development of a remarkable newly rediscovered treatment, frequency-specific microcurrent (FSM), that takes advantage of the body's ability to respond to frequencies in order to heal a number of chronic conditions.

the affects and methodology of FSM is a very interesting subject, and I was looking forward to hearing about how it induces increased ATP production and how they found the frequencies to correspond to different tissues. What I got was the emotional story of this person's failed marriage and failure to raise their children. Any time we came close to the actual meat and potatoes of the subject, a trite "I don't know" or "it came to me in a dream" level response. So I'll save you some time and summarize: Before the FDA cracked down on acceptable treatment types, someone discovered that specific electrical frequencies induce healing in specific tissues, then later this person's colleagues stumbled upon this treatment schedule, and this person started clinicaly trying it in their practice without really understanding the underlying mechanics. If you have a condition that is mentioned here and want to roll the dice, go for it, sounds like the side affects are negligible. If you came here to figure out how this works or get deeper understanding of the human body and how it works, keep looking, because you won't find it here.

Historia
Becoming a knockoff Dracula in tight leather pants was never part of Vincent’s plans. Neither was being summoned to another world by a cult of vampire wannabes. But both happened. Now, Vincent’s left to pick up the tattered pieces of his humanity as he tries to grow strong enough to keep his family safe. The world is filled with nightmares, and the looming threat of losing his soul stands between his goal and his reality, so it’s not like it will be too hard or anything. Hell should tremble. A good man is going to war.

Historia
You don't always get a second chance...unless you're a pawn for an eldritch horror that: A) can bend time, and B) is a sore loser. Justin Thyme is not a good man, nor one destined for glory. He was meant to die in obscurity, yet another level 82 Templar that was just about to get chewed up by a horde of skittering monstrosities clawing at humanity's last enclave. One short conversation with a time-splitting monstrosity later, and Justin finds himself flung five years into the past-right when the Earth was first chosen to host the 9,947th Gladiatorial Games.

Historia
After saying goodbye to his life on earth, he never expected to find a brand new world still awaiting for him. One where immortals flew through the clouds and ancient evils hid below the surface. One where fables, myths, and legends filled every corner. One where he could finally start anew. Now, however, John is about to learn a valuable lesson, for any place humanity rules will always be the same - a domain where sin and ambition can only be tamed by power. Will he have the strength to walk this road on his own or will he be unable to heal the old wounds hidden deep within his heart?

This is painful to listen to.
Revisado: 06-29-21
This is like listening to every fanfiction written by a pre-teen in the early 2000s. It's physically painful to listen to. The other reviewers who mentioned the mispronunciation of miscellaneous were spot on but there is no amount of narration that would have saved this. Save your money buy another book.

Historia
Henry and Jason led normal lives in Seattle before they were abducted to another world. Their kidnapper, the vain, self-styled god Dolos, refuses to send them back unless they can accomplish an impossible task. Oddly, Dolos doesn't seem to care if they succeed or not. Luckily, Henry and Jason studied Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) on Earth. Unfortunately, a Japanese American EMT and a geeky IT programmer don't have many other useful skills on a sword-and-sorcery world like Ludus.

The greatest obstacle to sound economic policy is not entrenched special interests or rampant lobbying, but the popular misconceptions, irrational beliefs, and personal biases held by ordinary voters. This is economist Bryan Caplan's sobering assessment in this provocative and eye-opening book.

Moral consideration 0%, Logical thoughtwork 100%
Revisado: 07-06-20
Suppose you wanted to wander around the mental landscape of an expert, capitalist, liberal economist. Here it is, you found it. The bedrock is maybe a little more sociopathic in nature than is comfortable, but the crystal clear rivers are pure logic, running around and through and over preconceptions of the forest. Metaphors aside, I was by turns scowling, snorting, raising eyebrows and sighing thoughtfully as I read. There's fascinating ideas here, alongside no small amount of privileged bullshit. If I was of a mind to nitpick, I could also go off about the constant use male pronouns when simply 'people' or something neutral would do. Or references to US citizens as 'Americans' while Mexican citizens are compared as simply 'Mexican'. (How is it so easily forgotten that there are two full continents of Americans? Peruvians are just as American as New Yorkers.) I recommend this book for it's various insights into critical thinking and logic, invaluable tools to be sure, but caution that it's a bit a dry, whimsical, and offensive ride at times. Still, the value of stepping outside one's ideological bubble can't be overstated. Give it a go.

Historia
Until recently, microglia were thought to be merely the brain’s housekeepers, helpfully removing damaged cells. But a recent groundbreaking discovery revealed them to be capable of terrifying Jekyll and Hyde behavior. When triggered - and anything that stirs up the immune system in the body can activate microglia - they can morph into destroyers, impacting a wide range of issues from memory problems and anxiety to depression and Alzheimer’s. Under the right circumstances, however, microglia can be coaxed back into being angelic healers.
