Great continuation of the series
Revisado: 04-19-16
Which character – as performed by Grover Gardner – was your favorite?
If forced to choose I would have to say Julien. But, Grover Gardner is in my top five narrators and he did a great job.
Any additional comments?
There is more than just action in this series. The action is there but there is a good story line and dialogue as well.

Great
Revisado: 03-02-16
Rather good overall. Darvill was excellent as usual. The story itself had a minor issue or two but the story was interesting enough to compensate for those issues.
Also, do not be overly influenced by the 1 star review as it is obvious that the reviewer missed the underlying theme of the story entirely.

Historia
As the Empire reels from its critical defeats at the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance—now a fledgling New Republic—presses its advantage by hunting down the enemy’s scattered forces before they can regroup and retaliate. But above the remote planet Akiva, an ominous show of the enemy’s strength is unfolding. Out on a lone reconnaissance mission, pilot Wedge Antilles watches Imperial Star Destroyers gather like birds of prey circling for a kill, but he’s taken captive before he can report back to the New Republic leaders.

Great edition to the new canon
Revisado: 09-08-15
What about Marc Thompson’s performance did you like?
Brilliant as usual.
Any additional comments?
I don't really pay attention to reviews, but, the negative ones for this book were so prevalent that I read them all before listening. In short I don't agree with them. This book was very good and does a good job of starting the aftermath trilogy. Yes, this book does not focus on the big three characters from the movies...so what? The story is still good...besides there is more going on in the SW universe that matters than just what Han, Leia or Luke are doing.
Some of the other reviewers complaints that I don't understand; Why wouldn't the "common people" know the phrase "may the force be with you" the Jedi were never a secret...they were the generals of the Republic during the clone wars for gods sake...if anything I always thought it was weird that a mere 20 years passes and characters like Han scoff at the very idea of the force. Also, why would people not have known Vader was a cyborg? It is not that big of a logical leap.
In the end, after rereading all the negative reviews all I can think is that they are coming from die hard EU fans who are still feeling the sting of that convoluted mass being deemed non canon...get over it.

Historia
Luke Skywalker's game-changing destruction of the Death Star has made him not only a hero of the Rebel Alliance but a valuable asset in the ongoing battle against the Empire. Though he's a long way from mastering the power of the Force, there's no denying his phenomenal skills as a pilot--and in the eyes of Rebel leaders Princess Leia Organa and Admiral Ackbar, there's no one better qualified to carry out a daring rescue mission crucial to the Alliance cause.

Thank the Force for the new canon
Revisado: 08-21-15
Good story and a great edition to the new canon. Thankfully, they decided to go in a different direction than the EU. The Thrawn trilogy was great but beyond that so much of the EU was terrible. The over long Vong storyline started out interesting but quickly became just...bad. The whole Jacen as Darth Whiny entitled brat was boring and a weak rehash of a story that had already been told. With the new canon we can hopefully get a storyline and in universe history that is worth following.

Historia
An unabridged reading of the new novel by James Goss featuring the Twelfth Doctor, as played by Peter Capaldi in the hit BBCTV series Doctor Who. An asteroid in the furthest reaches of space - the most secure prison for the most dangerous of criminals. The governor is responsible for the cruellest murderers, so he’s not impressed by the arrival of the man they’re calling the most dangerous criminal in the quadrant. Or, as he prefers to be known, the Doctor.

Good story, weird writing style
Revisado: 07-07-15
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Yes, lose the first person narrative.
Any additional comments?
I actually liked this story and the reader was adequate. Although I personally found the choice to write the story in the first person viewpoint of character who was neither a companion or the Doctor to be rather odd and it did have a slight negative effect on my ability to really enjoy the story as I prefer the third person style that most Doctor stories are written in.

Marlowe Hapworth is found dead in his locked study, killed by an unknown assailant. This is a case for the Great Detective, Madame Vastra. Rick Bellamy, bare-knuckle boxer, has the life drawn out of him by a figure dressed as an undertaker. This angers Strax the Sontaran. The Carnival of Curiosities, a collection of bizarre and fascinating sideshows and performers. This is where Jenny Flint looks for answers. How are these things connected? And what does Orestes Milton, rich industrialist, have to do with it all?

Revisado: 02-20-15
The plot was interesting and I enjoyed the inclusion of the paternoster gang. What I enjoyed the most was the fact that the author captured the essence of the 12th Doctor perfectly, and, the narrator was superb.

What made the experience of listening to Star Trek the most enjoyable?
The storyline and characters are well done.
Any additional comments?
Who decided that it was a good idea to offer the third book in a trilogy but not the first or the second? That just seems a bit daft to me.

War seethed across the planet. Machines soared through the air, churned through the seas, crawled across the surface, pushing ever forward, carrying death. Earth was engaged in titanic struggle. Germany, Russia, France, China, Japan: the maps were changing day by day. The hostilities spread in ever-widening ripples of destruction: Britain, Italy, Africa...the fate of the world hung in the balance. Then the real enemy came.

This is a great book, I almost enjoyed listening to it more than I enjoyed reading it. Also another review here states how the lizards tech. was to primitive, if you pay attention to the story you will easily figure out why this is not so.

Historia
Ce'Nedra, Imperial Princess of Tolnedra, is confused. Everyone knows the tales of the Orb protecting the West from the evil god Torak are just silly legends. But here she is, forced to join a quest to recover that stolen Orb. No one believes in sorcery, but Garion's aunt and grandfather seem to be the fabled sorcerers Polgara and Belgarath. Even young Garion is learning to do sorcery. He's just a farm boy, totally unsuitable for an Imperial Princess. Yet for some reason, she has the urge to comfort him.

Revisado: 03-22-10
All the readings I have made my way through have been great so far.
My only issue w/ this book is the charecter Relg (sp?), the cave diviner. He plays an essential role, but he is by far one of the most annoying literary charecters I have come across.
