The book was great but I honestly don’t think I would have fully enjoyed it like I did were it not for the outstanding narration of Victoria Johanssan. I am actually searching for titles based on her narration now. However I will also be wanting to read more books by the author. Brilliant historical fiction and very unique. A quick glance shows her other novels are similar.

Why couldn’t they get a better reader?

How insulting that they could not find a Latino reader OR at least someone that can pronounce the words. How could they not correct her or how could she not confirm pronunciation of words ? It was cringe worthy ...several words were just mis pronounced, it was not simply an accent problem. Cringe. Too bad. Good book. Either read it or listen to it in the Spanish version.
