Historia
Anthony Opoka and Florence Okori are coming of age in Uganda in the 1990s. Outstanding students, they believe in being good humans before they are kidnapped and forced into the fanatical Lord’s Resistance Army. In a legion of young recruits, no one gets closer than Anthony to powerful messianic warlord Joseph Kony and his darkest secrets. To stay sane as he spirals through chaos, Anthony clings to his childhood lessons about being a good human. Florence’s upbringing grounds her, too, helping her keep her dreams alive even as she’s pulled deeper into the insanity of Kony’s war.

Beautiful and terrifying story of survival, love and forgiveness. I’m such a fan of Mark Sullivan’s novels!

Historia
Tasked by the FBI to analyze a small amount of highly enriched uranium found on a smuggler in Moldova, nuclear-forensics scientist Steven Carter’s initial results suggest a serious terrorist threat. Unconvinced by his findings, the FBI calls a halt to further investigation. But Carter goes rogue, secretly continuing to analyze the material and discovering compelling evidence that somebody has enough uranium to make a nuclear bomb.

What a ride!
Revisado: 03-19-24
I listened to this book on audible and could hardly hit pause! I loved all the details, the investigations, following the leads and the timelines, while following Steven’s instincts to narrow down areas/people to target. Also the glimpse at his own life family struggles throughout all this. Extremely well written, hoping you’re already working on your next Sidney Niemeyer!
