Great Listening
Revisado: 03-12-13
Would you consider the audio edition of With No One as Witness to be better than the print version?
I had the print version available when I was listening to the audio edition. When I read, rather than listened I could hear Diana's voice giving expression and intonation to the characters. Her reading of the book enhanced the experience. I enjoyed her beautiful pronunciation of some of the words that were unfamiliar to me.
What was one of the most memorable moments of With No One as Witness?
The characterisation of Kimmo was a great start to the novel. Engagement with this character created interest in the police procedure that followed.
Which scene was your favorite?
It is very difficult to choose one, there were many. So as not to spoil later compelling scenes I would choose the scene where Barbara Havers takes Hadiyyah to the market.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Lynley's responses late in the book.

A Gradual Revelation
Revisado: 09-03-12
What made the experience of listening to The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry the most enjoyable?
I absolutely loved Jim Broadbent's narration. I thought that I might visualise him as the protagonist because he has such a distinctive voice and face, but I didn't. The story captivated and allowed me to forget who the actor/narrator was
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry?
The novel was full of images. The slow revelation of the reason for Harold's pilgrimage drew me in.
What does Jim Broadbent bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The warmth of being read to by an excellent narrator is one of the treats of listening to books, rather than reading them. Jim Broadbent's narration is one of the best.
