still listening
Revisado: 11-16-23
I'm still listening and it's not a bad book. It started really interesting and I was addicted. Then it really started to... bug me. First the reader sounds like a disney princess, the way she reads is very drawn out? It is most inconvenient. Instead of saying something is inconvenient. You'll get it when you listen. it's like that a lot. Or I should say "It is very much like that often" lol. It really doesn't really bother me, but every time I can't help notice it.
The thing that actually does bother me is the longer I listen the more unrealistic it seems to get. The main character is flawless, perfect and everything she does gets praised. She decides to go against the rules and they all cheer. Even the president. She loses her temper and gets praised. She's taking classes sure, but she's better than everybody else when they have more experience and have been doing it all their life. She just shows up, tell them how to do their job better when she gets upset and everybody is like "yeah that makes sense good job. "

Historia
What would make the perfect man? That's the deliciously racy topic that Jaine Bright and her three girlfriends are pondering one night at their favorite after-hours hot spot: Mr. Perfect. Would he be tall, dark, and handsome? Caring and warmhearted - or will just muscular do? As their conversation heats up, they concoct a tongue-in-cheek checklist that becomes an overnight sensation, spreading like wildfire at work and sizzling along email lines. But what began as a joke among friends turns deadly serious when one of the four women is murdered....

I wanted to like this book
Revisado: 12-06-22
I am still working on finishing this book. I absolutely cannot stand the main character. She is such a jerk and she tries to call herself nice. Just about every interaction with the main male lead starts with her being physically or verbally aggressive, she'll shove him, or yell at him, always. She gets so mad at him because he doesn't come home after one kiss and takes it out on him, knowing he's a cop. She doesn't get better. He started out bad, but there was growth. It was sudden and felt fake but at least he's tolerable. The dialog always seems off... and the entire premise is ridiculous. Who cares THAT much about a list. If I wrote the list with my friends my husband would just laugh. The list is silly and fine but everyone over reacts and it paints feminists and males in a bad perspective. Every male seems to be SOOO offended by this stupid list. I really wanted to like this book. It sounded fun, light, romance mystery, suspense count me in... But this book is a struggle. Also the narrator only has like 2 different voices 3 tops, so all the characters sound the same.

Historia
Calli was born an impossibility. With the dual soul of a shifter and the natural magic of a witch, she was the first known shifter/witch hybrid. I enjoyed it
Revisado: 11-30-22
This is a reverse harem, which I didn't realize going in but I still enjoyed the book. Typically with reverse harems I'm rolling my eyes, but they did a good job setting it up in a way that isn't so unbelievable I suppose, I guess it made more sense in this story then a lot of the ones I've listened to. I found the world intriguing and the characters interesting. It deals with grief, and the female lead was likeable and just trying her best to deal with this work she'd been thrown into. She wasn't a damsel or at all helpless, but it wasn't like she wrote up one day and was over powered either; it was really refreshing. I also thought both narrators did a great job. I quickly got through both books in the series, and I'm looking forward to the next.

Historia
Medical-school-dropout police detective Richelle Dadd is...well, dead. But that won't stop her from trying to hold on to her house in a divorce battle with a bitter husband. Or keep her from digging into her own murder, to discover who put the bullet into her heart. Or from coming to terms with her Gypsy heritage. And it certainly won't stand in the way of finding out the reason she's been reanimated as a zombie assassin, no longer in control of her life.

I mean...
Revisado: 10-21-22
This story has some interesting aspects. especially revolving around the shade and how the shade world works. The thing that bothers me the most is how often the author uses the phrases "I mean...", "and anyways" and lastly "it's like" I don't think I've ever heard those phrases so often ever. it gets old. the "I mean" has been used at least 10 times and I'm not even finished with the book. the narrator is pretty good.
