A clever and imaginative reconceptualization of an English language classic. Excellent cast, fast paced action, and engaging storyline.

I had to give up on this series. Halfway through Book 3 and the main character, Jason f*ng Asano, is quite possibly the most irritating protagonist I have ever come across in a literary work. As a character, his entire persona is gawdawful enough, but the way in which the author has chosen to make EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER in the work seemingly always be drawn into Asano's vortex of irresistible charisma makes the entire work that much worse. Even the freaking gods. The gawddamned gods.

It CAN happen here, though if it did it probably wouldn't happen like this. As you listen and or read this satirical portrayl of American political life under hostile corporate fascism, you can't help but see eerie parallels between Lewis' fictitious America and the current political landscape. The "MMs" for example immediately conjures up images of so-called "Proud Boys" with their accompanying machismo slogans. Windrip's biblical allusions reminds one of the grotesque infiltration of the Right by the so-called "Moral Majority".

Brewer's thoroughly researched and thoughtfully presented ideas, on how and why we get caught in craving loops, will help just about anyone suffering from the ill-effects of a mind that craves, or, knows someone who is.
