I enjoyed the first book in the series but could not even make it to the end of this one. A completely different feeling from the first book.

The first book had a simple plot that was enjoyable and the characters were grate and well flushed out.

This book felt like it was trying for a more complex plot but wad clunky and had holes. Maybe the holes are because I needed to read another book with the characters first, but if that is the casel then this book is in the wrong series. What finally killed this book for me was the characters, development really wasn't there and the character seem to have trouble staying in character, it was like listening to bad role play. I kept waiting for the GM to step in and say that's not something your character would do as character decisions just didn't make sense.
Sorry for the three stars on for performance, I like the narrator but even he can't make bad writing sound good.

If you didn't enjoy this you're in the wrong genre cuz this was awesome! It's been years since I read Robert Jordan's books and the audible book is spectacular!

I'm not going to lie the gay marriage was a turn off but the author did a very good job and I recommend this anyone.

This has been the best I've listened to in a year.

I've been on a space sci-fi kick for a while now and this is the best in the genre so far. I really enjoy the narrator too, he did a great job! I'm definitely looking forward to the series and hope it's just as good as the black company the last series he narrated.

Still a good book but enjoy the first one more.

I couldn't feel help with feeling like the characters got forgotten in the overall grand scheme. I don't feel like there's a lot keep connected to the great characters you introduced us to in the first book.
still a great story and hooyah for the excellent details. Hopefully you don't take any criticism badly after all, a bitching sailor is a happy sailor.

If you enjoy military style fiction or sci-fi I think you'll enjoy this. Looking forward to the next book.

Very enjoyable

This is a great style book I really liked how he just kind of threw us the galaxy and let us enjoy it with thorough great characters. I enjoyed how the story stayed action-packed and thrilling without going over the line into vulgar, gorry or, pushing any sort of opinions on the reader.

I'm disappointed he didn't fully flush out the Galaxy. I like how he didn't push any political, or really any, agenda. He just let us enjoy the Galaxy through his character but, it does feel incomplete without any sort of religion mentioned at all. Avoiding religion entirely is a common in sci-fi so I'm not going to beat on it too much, but omitting religion entirely leaves a story incomplete as it is a major component to how people and cultures interact.

I recommended the story to anyone over 16 and will definitely will continue on to the next book.

Awesome science fiction novel!

I read this, well listen to it, too early now who knows how long until have to wait for another book in the series. Will be definitely buying us book as a Christmas present for my family.
