This series just gets better and better. I don’t know if it’s the writing and the characters, or the fact that I know all these wonderfully hilarious characters intimately. I’ve been so very patient waiting for my favourite player, the team matchmaker, Levi Halsey, and what a story! It was so worth the wait. Having met his perfect woman in a hotel bar, then watching her disappear from his life without a trace, going so far as to hire a private investigator to find his nameless dream woman, he’s not quite as happy as he thought he would be when she surprisingly walks back into his life a year later. Why you might ask. Because she’s Coach Wood’s daughter, his only daughter, his pride and joy, Wylie Wood. Here-in starts an hilarious journey of forbidden romance, forced proximity and a super sexy, super kinky, hilariously funny hockey player trying to keep his hands to himself. It doesn’t help that they’re both hot for each other. As well as all the funny, sexy moments there is a little emotional drama in and amongst, I did shed a tear or two at one point. Even better than written words (in my opinion), is the audiobook, narrated in duet by Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder (fantastic), with added input from Jason Clarke, Connor Crais, Vanessa Edwin, JF Harding, Stella Hunter, Erin Mallon and Kelsey Navarro-Foster. All my favourite narrators together to form one of my favourite audios this year by far. I enjoyed every minute of it. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest review.

The final book in this fantasy trilogy, and what a finale. Action packed throughout, as Cale and his Sparrows fight against evil to try and rescue their Queen Rachael. All the characters I love in book 2 continue to battle it out in this highly entertaining action fantasy. Emotions are high throughout, with secrets, plot twists and a few surprises in the mix. And…… we have a little bit of romance - finally - I’ve been rooting for Cale and Rachael from day one. Narration once again by Aricka Parent was spot on, she caught every emotion with each character she portrayed. I received a complimentary copy of this audio book. This is my honest review.

Oh wow - so much happening in The Relics of Ar’Zac book 2. This story follows on directly from book 1 and sees Rachael taking charge of Rifarne and it’s subjects. Not everyone is happy about her rise to become queen though, and she has many new enemies, some of which are hiding in plain sight. Others come to her in her dreams. Who can she trust? Her journey of discovery is full of action, intrigue, magic, supernatural beings and a whole host of assassins. Romance takes a back seat as priority number 1 is keeping alive. So many secrets, so many people to rely on. I loved it. The audio is narrated by Aricka Parent, who was the perfect voice for the Rifarne Queen - both authoritative and hesitant, shy and proud. This did of course end on a cliffhanger and I’m anxious to start the final book to see where the author takes us. I received a complimentary copy of this audio book. This is my honest review.

Tijan’s mafia world - one of my favourite places

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tijan’s mafia world - one of my favourite places to be
If you want a succinct and action packed introduction to Tijan’s mafia world, then Jonah Bennett is the perfect book/audio for you. Jonah, although his family are immersed in the mafia world, is a surgeon, he wants nothing to do with the family ‘business’, in fact he chose being a doctor so he could balance out his heritage, and it also gives him purpose. Until one fateful day when both his worlds collide in the worst possible way. It turns out that walking away from the mafia world is harder than it seems. He might be able to protect himself, but how can he protect those he loves? Never a dull moment, and lots of cameos from one of my favourite mafia families (don’t forget we have Carter Reed and Cole too). A fantastic storyline, wonderful characters, and of course perfect writing. I can’t wait for more (please tell me we get Tanner’s story). Also got to say, I took full advantage of the whispersync facility for the first time - and I loved it. It worked so well. Narrated by Holly Warren and Benjamin Charles, both new to me narrators.

I’ve been desperate for Tijan to write more mafia romance, and here we are. Finally. Canary it is. Note though. This is not a pretty mafia romance. It’s very much a gritty mafia drama with a side of romance. I flipping loved it. I listened to the audio version, and CJ Bloom was superb as ‘Ashley’. Then we have Raiz, our mafia frontman, narrated by Connor Crais (a new to me narrator), who was so perfect in the role, he made me believe he was actual mafia. The story of course had a few twists and turns, lots of action (and violence), betrayal and romance. Ashley was the perfect girl with attitude and I loved the fact that she was straight up and honest about herself. No holds barred. I was hooked. Loved it.

A slow burn, enemies (ish) to friends, to lovers (I hope) romance. It’s also a case of opposites most definitely attract, even if they didn’t quite hit it off on their first meeting, Afric and Neil have a certain pull to each other, no matter how much they’d deny it if asked. Afric is a professional gamer, streaming live to thousands of fans. Neil is one of two personal assistants to non other than, wait for it, our wonderful reality TV stars from the Running on Air series. Yay! Neil though is nothing like any of them. Neil lacks confidence and charisma (at least he thinks he does), he likes order in his work life and his personal life. Maybe that’s how come he forms a friendship with Afric, seeing as though he’s got himself in a bit of a pickle, who better to help him out, than the Queen of chaos herself. Afric is definitely up to the challenge. Such a sweet, fun read, and a definite slow burn. It’s the full package. Great characters, great story and great writing. The audio version worked so well, Will Watt is always a pleasure to listen to and he was perfect for the role of Neil. I’m not too familiar with KC Sheridan, but her performance as Afric was spot on. A story that definitely lends itself to audio. I loved it.

My first read by Kate Canterbury, and true to my current reading genre binge it’s m/m. Even though this is book 2 in a spin-off series it’s a complete standalone, be aware though, one thing it has done is make me want to read more of this author’s work. Opposites most definitely attract as ex navy seal/secret agent Wes Halsted starts wooing sexy businessman Tom (no h) Esbeck. Tom is looking to settle down in a relationship, and that is not going to happen if he spends his days lusting after his boss’s brother, a fly by the seat of his pants nomad, who doesn’t want to settle down, and isn’t completely ‘out’ to his parents and work colleagues. Nope, he’s not going to go there, but Wes is persistent, and sweet, and fun to be with. A wonderful audio narrated by my two most perfect narrators, Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan, with a couple of additional chapters narrated by Christian Fox and Lucy Rivers. A wonderful, sweet and addictive m/m romance.

One word - eels!
Make that two - glue (ha ha)
Oh what the heck, who am I kidding. So many words. It’s Meghan Quinn for crying out loud. Funny is her middle name. Where does she come up with these hilarious storylines, she is the absolute queen of rom com.
That said, there are some really emotional moments in this story too, Brock ‘Romeo’ Romero and Stella Garcia really need to learn how to communicate, so many misunderstandings, and for two people with so much in common, and so much attraction and chemistry, you would think navigating a friendship/relationship would come more naturally. Those pesky insecurities getting in the way of true love. This friends to lovers, fake engagement rom com takes us back to Forest Heights High School where this wonderful group of friends taking a trip to Hawaii to celebrate Arlo and Greer’s nuptials. This story is an interconnecting standalone so you’ll quite possibly come across some of your other favourite characters in and amongst. Another wonderful read. I completely adored Stella, she was narrated perfectly by Erin Mallon. As much as I love Sebastian York, who did in fact do a standup job, I’m not 100% sure he was the best choice for Romeo.

The first book in the Beautiful Magic series sees paintings coming to life for Julian Garnier. Julian, an intern at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, gets more than he bargained for when he spends his nights at the museum. Not only are paintings coming to life, but they are also starting to disintegrate before his very eyes. Falling in love with the beautiful woman from a Renoir was not his plan, but spending every evening with Clio, walking, talking and romancing is just enough to make them both fall. A bit of a whodunnit mystery, with Julian and Clio racing against the clock to try and find out what’s happening to the paintings so that they can do whatever it takes to remove the curse, and save them before they’re permanently damaged. Sadly the cure is going to take a lot more from them than just time. Ooh to get into Lauren Blakely’s mind. I cannot comprehend what it takes to come up with such a fantastical romance, I’m in awe. Lauren’s a firm favourite of mine, and she never disappoints, add in narration from Jason Clarke and this audio really does come to life.

I absolutely loved this audio. It was everything I loved in a story. The writing, the characters, the narrators, I can’t say a bad word about it, not one bad word. Enemies to lovers. Emotional, and quite possibly (in some eyes), forbidden romance. Personally I loved Julian and Deacon together. They just made sense, and in my eyes, I truly believe that Rhett would have cheered them on. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll finish by saying if you’re an m/m fan this is a must read, Marley Valentine is a new to me author, and I’m definitely looking into reading more of her books, that said, if Teddy Hamilton’s narrating more of hers, I’ll definitely be buying the audio, it’s a given. I loved it.
