A predictable narrative from the far right. As someone who straddles the middle politically, I have to say this doesn't shock me. He makes a leap by talking about statues being taken down as rewriting history. I have huge issues with the left but rewriting history isn't one of them.

Mixed feelings. I know this review is unhelpful and for that I am sorry. I am still trying to understand how I feel about these books myself. I absolutely enjoy the story as a whole. The premise of the story, writing, and narration are all 2 thumbs up. Something leaves a bad taste in my mouth though.
I think for me it's the length of the listen that has my mind confused. I listen to many epic novels where one volume can be 20, 30, or even 40 hours plus and these feel bite-size and unfinished. Had the first two parts been in the same novel I would have nothing but praise for this set of works.
It's as if the author took an epic novel and decided to break it down into 9-hour parts and call each a volume. The endings have felt more like the ending of a chapter and not the ending of a book. I can honestly say that had I not gotten this series free with my membership I would not be so positive with my review. I would not have wasted a credit for each of these books.

This was a great story that should have written by a better author.
I don't expect masterful writing from every author, but the storytelling in this book is lackluster at best.
He takes scenes in the book and draws them out to unbearable lengths. Be prepared to listen to one such scene for an hour plus. You already know the MC has these feeling from reading/listening to the other parts up to the book. Yet, he drives this point home with a sledgehammer .-- kinda like I just did with this point, but even worse.
I honestly had to finally turn off the book for a day just to keep myself from shutting it off all together.

Not the easiest book to follow.

I fall to sleep every night listening to books. I have done this for 7-8 years. I set my computer to shut down after 20 minutes and the next night I will go back and start from the last part I remember. I found this book so hard to follow that most nights I couldn't remember where I left off the night before. I have never had this happen before.
The author did a poor job of fleshing out the characters and the environment in which they lived. He constantly introduced you to characters and/or magic concepts that were not only new but very difficult to even remember because he chose to use very difficult, long and unusual names. It just didn't work for me.

Even when he's not at his best, he is still great.

It was not his best effort but even so it's a great book. I don't agree with the comments some made about Victor Bevine, but I have had my share of narrators I have disliked in the past. I don't need all the character voices like some. His voice is as familiar and comfortable to me as any of Drizzt's adventures and I would have a hard time separating the two.

I would not reccommend this book ,atleast not in the audio version.
Bronson Pinchot should NEVER narrate another book again.It was so bad I couldnt finish and I tried several times to do just that.I would have rated it a 1 but I felt perhaps I didnt give it a full chance since I couldnt finsh it.

Same old ..same old!

This book is definately not worth reading.It rehashes the same material many others have already done many times prior.Basically its a believe in yourself and tell yourself that book.
Author could have written a one page summary and explained the same things he managed to write a full book about.
Waste of money!
