Historia
At the onset of the Second World War, Nazi Germany sends a multipurpose expedition to Antarctica. Not all of its members return. Today in Egypt, hushed whispers in a Cairo bar hint of a long-lost second Sphinx hidden beneath the sands of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Boozy talk of a map therein to the lost city of Atlantis convinces a ragtag band of local tour guides with mixed motives to take matters into their own hands. To find out if the rumors are true, without going through proper archaeological channels, they hastily descend beneath the landmarks they think they know so well.

I really enjoyed it.
Revisado: 07-11-22
This is quite outside my regular genre, but it was a fascinating adventure/alternate history. I'm glad I went for it. I've always been fascinated by all things Ancient Egypt, so tying that together with Antarctica and Atlantis was really interesting. (I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I won't go into further detail.) I found this book to be quite the wild ride with a fair bit of suspense. I look forward to listening to more in this series.

Wow!!!
Revisado: 06-23-22
Wow!!! I really enjoyed books 1 and 2, and I was looking forward to book 3. This one certainly didn't disappoint. I would say that I liked it even better than books 1 and 2, but I can't put my finger on exactly why. It was just so satisfying as a story with all the twists and turns and with how it wrapped up. As with the others, there's the perfect balance between little bits of sub-character side stories and action-packed suspense. I want more DCI Bone stories. I very much hope that it becomes a long series.
Perfect narrator for the book

Fantastic - just like book 1
Revisado: 06-01-22
After very much enjoying book 1 I couldn't wait to hear more DCI Bone adventures in book 2, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Like book 1 it was right into the action from the very beginning. This one was also fast paced, and DCI Bone is constantly thrown into 1 situation after another. (I won't go into further detail to avoid spoilers). The story is quite suspenseful and kept me guessing until the very end.
I also like the interaction of his team and learning more about their lives. I found his ex-wife annoying, yet, based on what goes on, I can (at least somewhat) understand why she does what she does. I am looking forward to book 3 and finding out what comes next for DCI Bone.

I was honestly unsure how much story could be accomplished in 45 minutes, but I'm glad I went for it because this definitely wowed me. It drew me right in and was highly suspenseful multiple times.

Fantastic
Revisado: 02-28-22
I get easily turned off of books that have a very long and dragged out intro before the story really starts. Well no problem here because this one hooked me by jumping right into the action immediately. The story is fast paced but not in a way that's hard to follow. I was definitely intrigued and wanted to keep listening to find out what was going to happen next. I found the characters realistic and relatable in their struggles. There was some amusing comic relief that made me literally laugh out loud at parts. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and, even a few days after finishing it, am still thinking about it. I very much hope that this is a long series of DCI Bones and his crew because finishing this book left me wanting more.
I have no complaints about the narrator, which is high praise.
