I can’t listen to this narrator again. Ever.

The narrator is so utterly distracting that I couldn’t even pay decent attention to the actual story. I do not know what she is doing with her mouth or her teeth or saliva or heaven knows but at some points it was actually a little nauseating. She needs to get that fixed and meanwhile this great author NEEDS another narrator. Please!

Change in narrator is a hard pass...

I am returning the book. The narrator is awful; a complete mismatch to the past narrator, to the Native cadence. I have no idea what decision was made to change to this fellow, but it is a fail, sadly enough for the series. I needed zero stars for this performance.

The narrator is pretty low key, but to be honest, that may have kept the book from going over the top. I was a third of the way through, perhaps, when I realized how good he really is.

Cletus.... whoo, boy. Warren, complex, and kind of sweet for a crazy man. Boo needs more development for sure and I am already wondering if there are more Boo(k)s.

I was charmed...

The story is short, but delightfully done. I suspect many a child has wished for a place where no one bugged them, and Max is no exception. The characters are sweetly done. The narrator is a star in my book. Solid, and a lovely voice. Her narration was spot on. My granddaughters are going to LOVE this one!

It is rare for me to find a series that is so complete. Each book develops the characters more completely, and the author carries us along in plots that have twists, turns, and tons of pure pleasure. My new favorite in authors for sure!

I have to speak to the narrator, Lee Beddows. Boy oh boy! When you can listen to an audiobook and easily recognize the characters by narrator voice, cadence, etc. it is a distinct pleasure. Actively looking for other works by him.

Author, narrator, characters, plot, resolution - this book has it ALL!

I think I would have enjoyed the book. As it is, I had some difficulty finishing it. The narrator was so very much more dramatic than I want to hear.

Engagaging book, really good narrator

It really kept my interest, and not just because of the story, which was good, but because the narrator was really good. Lots of voice changes, and believable story-telling.
