I enjoyed the first four books in the Left Behind series quite a bit. Books 5 through 12 get dragged out, and I've always assumed it was because the publishers wanted to milk the series for everything they could. If the entire series was condensed down to around 6 or 7 books, it would be one of my favorite series. Nevertheless, I never felt like books 5-12 were a waste of time. This books is a waste of time though. It's not interesting, engaging or even relatable. If you really enjoy the Left Behind series up to this point, I recommend just stopping with The Glorious Appearing. This book doesn't ruin the other books, but it doesn't add anything to them either, so you're better off finding something else to read.

Boy flees back in time to Medieval England to live as a wizard while he tries to think of a way to fix things. Boy gets in more trouble. Oh, and boy meets girl at some point.

This book has a very fun story with a lot of geeky references and belly laughs. The narrator does a great job as well.

Don't skip this because of the reader comments

Shogun is a great story that once it picks up (after about the first few hours) it's hard to put down. I almost skipped it because of the negative comments on the reader. However, there's nothing wrong with the reader. Not every audiobook reader is going to be one of those greats who has a distinctive voice for every character. I didn't find his reading boring or confusing. I found his voice appropriate for a period novel such as this.

I love Terry Brooks, but make sure you get the unabridged version. It skims over the story so fast you'll feel like its a Wikipedia article.
