Powerful Witness!
Revisado: 04-07-24
While this is not an easy read due to the subject matter, it is an important one that educates and shines light on the present and the past lived experiences of indigenous peoples not just in Canada but also the rest of the North America. Angela’s brave retelling of her own personal experience and that of the MMIW&G and their families will hopefully continue to uncover the truths and solve the mysteries behind those who are still missing. By continuing to shine a light on MMIW&G, I hope this will also be a deterrent to those who prey upon the vulnerable and will also ensure a paradigm shift in the way these cases are handled by law enforcement.

Historia
It is New Year's Eve, nearly six weeks into an off-and-on blizzard that has locked Alaska down, effectively cutting it off from the outside world. But now there are reports of a plane down in the Quilak mountains. With the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board - responsible for investigating aviation incidents) unable to reach the crash site, ex-trooper Jim Chopin is pulled out of retirement to try to identify the aircraft, collect the corpses, and determine why no flight has been reported missing. But Jim discovers survivors: two children who don't speak a word of English.

Couldn’t stop listening!
Revisado: 09-03-23
I live in Alaska and my sister and I were taking a road trip between Anchorage to Haines which in essence drives around the edges of “The Park” in the Kate Shugak mysteries. We couldn’t stop listening to this audiobook and even after an exhausting day in the car, we wanted to keep listening until the very end. Dana Stabenow is an incredible writer living in Homer and provides an amazing authentic Alaskan perspective in her books. I highly recommend all of the Kate Shugak mysteries and I’m eager to read her other series.
