Historia
Shari Franke’s childhood was a constant battle for survival. Her mother, Ruby Franke, enforced a severe moral code while maintaining a façade of a picture-perfect family for their wildly popular YouTube channel 8 Passengers, which documented the day-to-day life of raising six children for a staggering 2.5 million subscribers. But a darker truth lurked beneath the surface—Ruby’s wholesome online persona masked a more tyrannical parenting style than anyone could have imagined.

Poignant
Revisado: 01-15-25
This is a story that for many is familiar, but also horrifying. Horrifying because many of us watched in real time as this family delved into madness. I think many recognized something wasn’t right, however I think few guessed the full scope of terror that was going on behind the scenes. Shari does an excellent job telling her story both in writing and as narrator. Her self reflection on the events is impressive considering how awful it must have been to dissect her intimate thoughts and feelings. I think we can expect great things from Shari in future- even if it is away from our public eye.

A classic
Revisado: 12-29-24
A classic story with an excellent narrator. A few weird gaps between chapters and sentences but still a great rendition.

The Worst of the Series
Revisado: 04-16-24
A good presentation by the narrator, but on the whole the story was a let down considering the build up of the prior books. Overall the story was too scattered with no character development, if anything I think the main characters regressed. It also failed to complete plot lines brought up in prior books.

A pleasant surprise
Revisado: 05-08-23
I selected this story randomly and it was a pleasant surprise at how good it was and how profoundly it affected me. The story is woven between the main characters in a flawless fashion and the narrator does an excellent job vocalizing each individuals story! I might give it a second listen it was so good!
