Historia
When Tag O’Rourke, struggling actor-slash-barista, meets Jay Warren, son of acting royalty, it’s loathing at first sight. Loathing…and lust. Tag’s dream is to act, but it’s a dream that’s crumbling beneath the weight of student debt and his family’s financial problems. If his career doesn’t take off soon, he’s going to have to get a real job. After all, feeding his family is more important than feeding his soul. Luckily, Tag’s about to get his big break…

Excellent end to a terrific series. Unless…are there more books coming? Please?!
Revisado: 07-21-24
Ugh, the payoff at the end of this book is so perfect I just want to shout! I loved reading this series and was so excited when the books began to be released in audio. I’ve been waiting (impatiently, to be sure) for this third book and it was everything I hoped for. Simon Goldhill does such a good job with distinct voices. I love how that distinctiveness stretches all the way from Book 1 to Book 3—Lewis and Aaron’s voices are immediately recognizable and familiar the few times we hear them in this book, as are Mason and Owen’s voices. Lucky me, I’m about to launch a relisten of all three books.

Historia
Nick Russo has worked his way from a rough Brooklyn neighborhood to a reporting job at one of the city’s biggest newspapers. But the late 1950s are a hostile time for gay men, and Nick knows that he can’t let anyone into his life. He just never counted on meeting someone as impossible to say no to as Andy. Andy Fleming’s newspaper-tycoon father wants him to take over the family business. Andy, though, has no intention of running the paper. He’s barely able to run his life.

It’s just so good!
Revisado: 11-25-23
The understated humor, the skillful writing, the realistic character development, the deep research that builds the scaffolding of the story and never becomes an info dump —Cat Sebastian has delivered another winner. Joel Leslie’s narration adds another level of wonderful. I’ve just finished my third listen to this book and it’s firmly on my comfort book list.

Historia
Jake Fischer has been here before: pitching for the Oakland Elephants, hiding his worries behind a smile, hoping to win it all. Ten years ago, it didn't turn out the way he wanted. Nothing in his life did. But now he's back—and so is the one teammate tied inexorably to his past. It doesn't matter how many times catcher Alex Angelides replays that moment during the Fall Classic over in his mind, the outcome never changes. He's not sure what happened to make that pitch glance off his glove, or what happened with his relationship with Jake—and he's not going to be the one to ask.

Stunning ending to a fabulous series
Revisado: 11-01-23
KS Casey is such a careful, precise writer—sometimes a sentence or two will stop me in my tracks, and then days later I’ll find myself remembering it again. I really love this series and am so glad to have this final book in audio. Cendese is one of my favorite narrators, and although at first I wasn’t sure his style fit this book (he’s typically a little more breezy and snarky than I feel the MCs in this book are), I changed my mind fairly early on. Five stars all around.

Historia
If a megalomaniacal earth mage kidnaps your little sister, do you: A) Kill him, B) Kill him, C) Kill him, D) Magically indenture yourself to him to ensure her safe return. Welsh water horse Nevan Quirke would have happily opted for A, B, or C but had no idea where his sister was hidden—so, option D it is. He’s not a fool, though. He made sure to limit his obligation to a single task. Unfortunately, he neglected to nail down a few tiny details before the geas brand was seared into his skin,

Fabulous continuation of Mythmatched World!
Revisado: 08-16-23
Great book that continues the story of EJ Russell’s Mythmatched/Quest Investigations series *and* is part of the multi-author Carnival series as well. As usual, tons of well-researched mythic and folkloric info woven seamlessly into the storyline, along with Russell’s trademark smart writing, wry humor, and occasional snark. Bonus Jordan and Doop appearances! Greg Boudreaux hits it out of the park (as usual) with his narration and handles the various accents beautifully.

Historia
When fanfic writer Aaron Page landed a temp job with the creator of hit TV show, Leeches, it was only meant to last a week. Three years later, Aaron’s still there. It could be because he loves the creative challenge. It could be because he’s a huge Leeches fanboy. It’s definitely not because of Lewis Hunter, his extremely demanding, staggeringly rude...and breathtakingly gorgeous boss.

Going on my list of comfort re-reads

I really enjoyed this when I first read it and was happy to revisit it in audio. The narrator does an outstanding job and adds depth to the story with his vocal characterizations. Looking forward to listening to the second book in this series!

Historia
When Murderbot discovers a dead body on Preservation Station, it knows it is going to have to assist station security to determine who the body is (was), how they were killed (that should be relatively straightforward, at least), and why (because apparently that matters to a lot of people - who knew?). Yes, the unthinkable is about to happen: Murderbot must voluntarily speak to humans! Again!

Historia
Curtis “Launchpad” Larkin’s career as an astronaut has had its share of ups and downs. Alternately lauded as the single-handed savior of NASA and condemned as a reckless, hot-headed bully, Curt has been through the wringer of public opinion and come out on top. When he embarks on his final mission with NASA, Curt figures there’s no curveball that life has left to throw him.

Historia
The hits just keep coming for Troy Barrett. Traded to the worst team in the league would be bad enough, but coming on the heels of a messy breakup and a recent scandal…Troy just wants to play hockey and be left alone. He doesn’t want to be in the news anymore, and he definitely doesn’t want to “work on his online presence” with the team’s peppy social media manager.

Revisado: 08-11-21
This book is a great addition to the series. The main characters are multi-dimensional and interesting and as usual, the hockey feels like the author actually knows what she’s talking about, and we see (and enjoy!) characters from past books. I can hardly wait for the next book.
