I wanted to like it

It turned out to be a DNF for me. She ran from an abusive relationship then refused to do anything to keep herself safe. She hid the fact that he called and threatened her on her office phone. Then she kept saying “sure he found my office phone number but he doesn’t know where I am” and “he won’t be able to find me”. If you google the office number, the business name and address will come up. Not to mention the office number is registered to the business so he would have known that before calling her. Also she refused to get a restraining order. I just couldn’t continue with this story line.

Good story

I liked the unique storyline. The narration left a bit to be desired. The female narrator sounded too old for the character and lacked inflection.

Great book

I don’t usually read romance fantasy books so I was somewhat apprehensive to try this one. I also prefer dual narration. After trying and DNFing a few books similar to my usual preference (romance suspense with just humans) I saw this one and the cover photo caught my eye. From there I read the synopsis and decided I’d give it a try. I’m glad I did.

The storyline is unique and very well thought out. The suspense and romance factors were weaved together skillfully. The fantasy (alien) part was done well also. Making the humans decedents of Clecanians and the similarities between the two species made the romance portion work well.

The narrator did a wonderful job. I have DNFed audio book before when the narration was done poorly. I also usually prefer dual narration because women making male voices and vice versa can leave the performance lacking. That was not the case with this narration. I’m so so so glad I rolled the dice and tried this book.

I plan to read the rest of this series soon.

Love it!!!

The complex story line is top notch. The suspense grabs hold of you from the very beginning and keeps you guessing. The inclusion of the characters from the previous books was well done. It was nice to get updates on what’s going on in their lives. The updates were woven into this story very well. I like how she incorporated characters from her other series Falcon Falls Security as well. I’ll be running off to read those next.

The narrators did an amazing job! In a lot of audio books they’ll have men making female voices and vice verse for dialogue with the other main character during their chapters, but they didn’t do that with this book. Each actor voiced for their character throughout making this audio version unique and so much better!

The only thing I didn’t absolutely love what’s that there was a lot of build up to the first time they had sex, but then when the moment came they fooled around beforehand and once they actually start having sex the book skips that entire scene. Others come after so it’s not a huge deal, but it left me wanting more in that moment.

Overall the book is fantastic and I can’t wait for Constantine’s book.

Perfect end to the series

Such a sweet story for Sandy. I lived how all of the other stories wrapping into this one because it gave closure to readers that their HEAs were exactly that. I’m sorry to see the series end, but it couldn’t have been written better.

Loved the storyline and the spice was spicing much more than the first 2 books 👏 The inclusion of the main characters from the previous books was great. I liked being able to have updates on their stories.

Well written, and a great story. I also liked how Emmy and Bentley were involved in the story too. We got updates on their relationship that I greatly appreciate. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in the series.

Slow burn but the spice was 5 ⭐️
The story line was unique and both main characters were well developed. I hope to get an update on them in the next book.
